As a mechanic, a daily driver of old cars and owner of a workshop I had to say... This was one of your best videos so far. So much commitment, so much enthusiasm. You guys are great, and honestly, it would be an honor to meet you some day. Keep going, we support you as much as we can. Thanks for everything.

I've stumbled across this video randomly, and I've got to be honest - if this is their best video yet, how bad are they usually? Absolutely no mechanical sympathy whatsoever.
@kevinchalmers8361

@@daveytn the thing was absolutely destined for the scrap pile eventually. I don't think he is trying to do it sympathetically, more to show how crudely it can be done, way more interesting in my opinion. A cool car back in the day though, and that twin cam sounds awesome when pushed!

@@daveytn Could it be that you are some kind of troll? This channel isn't dedicated to rebuild or restore cars. That are not some rare, fancy Porsches, mustangs, or else. Just regular cars with much miles, abandoned somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It's just about resurrecting the cars with small budget, small amount of tools and much effort. Most of them are so busted, they will never be road legal again. But they got their chance to show that they are still alive. Nothing more.

@@bayerischemotorenwerke5252 Well, we don't know what the plans are for the car. If it's going to be scrapped anyway a little piston damage won't hurt at all. And if you wanted to restore it, an engine rebuild would be a good idea I think.
@Ragnar8504

After having watched the full video I'd say no one in their right mind would restore this car. The entire rear end is so completely rotted it's ready to fall off and the complete interior has been taken to bits, most of it missing. To me this looks like a parts car someone already took a lot of bits from. The only worse car I've ever seen moving under its own power was a MK1 VW Golf somewhere in the rural US, that one was so completely rotted out the whole car was bowing in the middle, I honestly expected it to break in half during the video! Can't remember what YT channel that was unfortunately.

She's going to need some more work to get it more road worthy and looking better, but it's still such an underrated classic, man. I am suspecting what you have there is one of the 2500 "lazy cossie's", Ford built these cars at Dagenham and Cologne with an experimental twin cam engine with a slightly different chain for timing, they were all GL trimmed and these were hatchback, Sapphire and estate variants in Weber carb or Ford EFI fuel systems, if it is the engines are quite sought after for race platforms being quite tuneable. The bottom end is pretty much identical to the older Pinto blocks used in Taunus, Cortina and Transits so easy to get a starter for for little money, think the Granada's are the same as they all used the basic type 9 gearbox across the range.

These 4x4's were the dog's danglies in estates, the only one better than this was the South African Windsor V8 4x4 estate as used by the South African police as interceptor chase cars. Here in the UK the 4x4 estates were highly prized by the banger racers for towing their trailers with, they were just such a capable car that could tow anything ton up :D Only bad part of the car will be the crumple zones in the forward part of the chassis, they rot out like soft cheese, compliance bushes and rotoflex couplings also major issue as the rubber Ford used was crap.
