Do you till your garden every year or do more of a no-till garden?

Sorta no-till. We bury our bokashi compost in parts of the garden that aren’t in use.

@@fwebster6226 that is something I have yet to try.

A mattock or pick axe are the American versions of your tool there. You can get them in a couple different sizes. The larger one swings heavy like a maul, but the smaller one might be a little easier to handle - though slightly less effective in really hard soils or heavy rooted soils.

A grub hoe is more analogous to that tool than a mattock.

Thanks! I’ll see if I can find a wide, heavy mattock. Ideally without the pick part because I have a mildly irrational fear of jamming the pick into my face as I bring it back 😆

I've been using my sawzall. Works well. Sit in chair while sawing dirt.

Really?! That’s amazing and a little hilarious 😆

Yeah, it’s a mess 😂. But slowly turning what feels like rubble filled dump into a garden.
