Good on you for not filming your goodbye with Ian when you could have done so for views/drama. Some moments are just private.

The controlled fire is to prevent actual random uncontrolled brush fires. So they got rid of all the dead plants/weeds/overgrowth so there isn’t a very dangerous fire.

My boyfriend and I have been doing long distance for 5 years now, he also goes to ASU funnily enough. It’s tough but also makes the heart grow fonder and makes your time together even more special. Also, Tempe is such a fun city to both live in and visit so take those trips! A piece of advice, just remember that long distance is temporary. In the moment it feels like forever and it sucks but in the long run it is just a small portion of your life. Wishing the best for both of y’all.

I met my boyfriend online 4 and a half years ago and we have been doing long distance ever since. We live 3000 miles apart. I have lost count of how many times we have met up (it's a lot haha), but one thing I know for sure is that distance makes the heart grow fonder. I love him so much, and I wouldn't change the way our relationship has played out at all. Good luck, Avia and Ian, I believe you will make it through this chapter of your lives, it won't be easy, but stay strong and remember that communication is key. ❤️

Just putting it out there. I’m 24 and I met my bf in high school. He went away to college and I stayed for a trimester before I decided to go to the same college. We’ve been together 7.5 years now :) but, I think it’s also totally okay if it doesn’t work out, honestly it usually never does. If it doesn’t, it will hurt terribly but it’s life experience most people have. Good luck ❤️

The correct answer for the controlled fires is, for the fire triangle a fire requires 3 things Fuel, Oxygen and heat so if you remove one of them it prevents fires , in that case they are removing the fuel from along the side of the road by using it up in a controlled situation so that if someone discards a cigarette or something like a glass bottle by littering it is less likely to cause an uncontrolled fire. It is often done in woodland where a strip of trees are cut down and removed and all the brush is burnt to create a fire divide making it difficult for fire to jump areas. Nothings perfect as sometimes wind ( increased oxygen flow ) can cause fires to burn hotter and more intensely and a small tinder can jump divides and start another fire but overall it’s a preventative measure used to reduce the risk / chance of uncontrolled fires.

Hi sweet girl!!! Been following you since you were a little girl on Shaytards and felt compelled to tell you that my husband and Is situation was similar to you and Ian’s. We met in high school, started dating my senior year his junior year and ended up going to different colleges and committing to atleast 5 years of long distance. Such a scary and daunting idea but we knew that whatever was meant to be will be - flash forward to now and we’re married and happier than ever :) Wishing you both the best! Focus on yourselves and your goals and if you’re meant to stay together, everything will fall into place!

I'm from Australia and we do those controlled fires out on our bush areas. I believe it's because if you burn grass then it can't catch on fire again, meaning that the extreme heat we get doesn't cause massive out of control bushfires that reach the roads or houses

Yup! It’s a practice that started from our Aboriginal people and prevents larger fires in the drier months :)

Controlled burns are to get rid of material that will spread fires later. Let’s say someone throws a cigarette out the window. With certain grasses, they’ll catch, and it’ll quickly become uncontrolled.

Controlled burns are done to rid a forest of dead leaves, tree limbs, and other debris, and can help prevent a destructive wildfire. Our local park does this yearly, and everything grows back super fast after a controlled burn.

When it comes to the contained fires, some environments are kept maintained through them for the ecosystem can thrive. I went to a trip recently and at first thought it was a freak fire but my sister informed me on it, really cool!

I'm going to be a senior at ASU this upcoming school year! I'm a Vegas native so I'm used to the heinous weather but I love it here, and I think Ian will like it too! ASU has a great student life atmosphere and there's a lot to do here, especially if you love hiking. Good luck to him and everything he does here! Long distance is not easy by any means, but if you both put in the effort then it'll be a breeze :) If you ever need suggestions for things to do in or around Tempe (or even day trips outside of the city), I would be more than happy to give you some, just some little activities to do when you come visit!

Controlled burns are lit for a number of reasons. By ridding a forest of dead leaves, tree limbs, and other debris, a prescribed burn can help prevent a destructive wildfire. Controlled burns can also reduce insect populations and destroy invasive plants. In addition, fire can be rejuvenating.

Controlled burns are typically done for weed control. Not only are weeds obnoxious and take root quickly making the ground difficult to manage but weeds are extremely dry and catch fire quickly, essentially a fire hazard. Destroying weeds on a controlled basis leaves little room for them to catch fire unintentionally and get out of control therefore becoming dangerous.

The controlled fires are to keep the rubbish tamed. If they dont do them every so often, the dry and dead plants could cause an outbreak and burn everything down. So the controlled ones are good for the environment:)

Dead grass and dead and growth takes less energy for a fire to burn through than living plants. Watching videos of controlled burning is very cool, the fire follows paths of dead grass and avoids living grass. Also I’m long distance too! 1.5 years. You’ll learn how to study and call at the same time dw

Ian has a better chance of being noticed by an NFL team at Arizona State, which plays in the Pac 12 Conference. There are currently openings for placekickers with the Cowboys, Rams, Packers, Titans, Buccaneers. and 49ers. Arizona just signed a veteran kicker who holds a bunch of NFL records, Matt Prater, who held the record for longest field goal.
