We, the other half and I, are interested in your knowledgeable assets. But to get the ball rolling, I really am looking for advice on whether to go S Corp or not. Our goal is to start with what we intend to do later, which is staffing people under W2s. So, me being the numbers guy and here being an agency nurse, we would like to go S Corp and pay her via W2 and I will not need a salary at the moment until we grow. Should we pursue the S Corp route right off the start? If not, why is that?

@joemartin667 for accounting advice meet with a CPA. Explain your plans and goals and decide. Each person's tax situation and strategy is there own and I won't advise on that. As for what we assist with that is all on our site and would be happy to help in those areas.

If they cannot find them, how do we find them???? I don't understand the business concept, when there's a shortage at Magnet Hospitals and facilities, there's going to be a massive challenge for us to make a living finding these people, no?

its more about you being targeted in your approach - often times they have limited departments

Yes. This is hard to do esp never having been a medical professional. The business is saturated with these agencies, but it takes special skill to be licensed as a nurse or higher. You don’t want lawsuits for bad work endangering patients (clients). Medicine is different from other businesses that carry less potential for these problems. It’s a nice idea, but finding staff is a serious limitation

I'm not ready to start this chapter because I'm currently doing prerequisites courses. But my end game is to move abroad do travel nursing and start an agency, or agency in travel business. what is that even possible? If so how would I go about doing that?

its not that they can't find them, everyone fishing from the same pond. If you establish new lead flow or do a better job at attracting talent you can succeed

So many nurses are burned out from just the workload as it is. I guess if years into it a person decides they like the field, can handle the pressure, don’t have dependents, and can come up with the funds, then it’s possible. Seems like the bigger companies have these advantages. Not to be negative, it’s just prep work is important.

@DaBank I would say shift the hours to the weekend rather than cut them. Also if you start staffing yourself weekend shifts at the contract rate will replace your current income that way you have business days to focus on business without taking a financial haircut. This is needed in Italy. Many of the locations the expats are moving and towns going extinct do nit have medical services. Maybe attracting Nurses and physicians from the States. Italian may be easier to learn that some languages. A couple years of immersion would be enough. The language training could begin before going over there. We have lots of foreign medical staff coming over here, too. Many Spanish speakers. Italian would not be a leap to learn. It’s just interesting. The aging population in Italy is in need of gerontology medical professionals. If you are currently in the medical field and want to try this, you need to go in with several other medical and business advisors. May be a better idea if a person is already a nurse or physician.

Not easy but chipping away every day. I wish consultancy was not as expensive for beginners as it is. Or some model existed where beginners can pay a manageable down payment and gradually increase the payments based on business growth till full amount is paid off 😊
