Also, to be fair, LUA is not a threat at all due to not being a real (compiled) programming language. As a matter of fact, I use Lua as my servant/slave for C++. What if you need a scripting language from the Tribe of Lua? Does anyone think Lua could possibly mean any threat? :D Lua is a great royal servant of C++, being the interpreter for her Lua countrymen (Lua scripting) to serve the Empire of C++. Symbiosis of C++ Lua as the Compiled foundation Scripting environment works very well and easy. C++ will always remain the hard-coded unshakable foundation (until recompiled), whereas you'll need the service of Lua for changes in run-time (without the need to recompile)...

Dude, both of them are good languages, C++ is good for projects that you want to be fast and more low level based (OpenGL) while Python is good for projects that you would want to make in a short amount of time or quickly on just 1 term and that being the speed

I think that one of the biggest weaknesses of these sorts of rankings is that they treat programming languages and scripting languages as identical things; while there is overlap, and python is an example of a scripting language that has a *lot* of that overlap, they are fundamentally, from the ground up, different things. It would be silly, for example, to do a ranking of the most used tools, because what information does one gain from learning that screwdrivers are more used than sand paper? This tells us nothing about either tool's quality, only that one use-case is more common than the other. If you're trying to use Python for the main code-base of a game, then the speed issues are your own fault. If you're trying to use C++ for speed-non-critical applications expected to be broadly cross platform, then your slow development times and twelve different ported builds are your own fault. For my project, I like C++ for the base game codebase, but I like Python for high-level scripting. The former makes for a solid base, and the latter allows me to tweak things like game balance and flavor text without having to rebuild the whole damn thing -- not to mention the benefits for modding support. I'm convinced that the simplicity of modding with Lue played a not-insignificant role in the success of Factorio, for example.

I wanted to use c++ but it is really hard to setup, hard to learn and I dont see a lot of tutorials for it whereas python is easy to setup, easy to understand and has tons of tutorials so I guess you could say c++ could use some support but I still think python is a better language for beginners like me. I wrote a web framework with python called Lemon, I don't think it would be as good in c++.Github repo: github.com/InsaneMiner/Lemon. Can you do a tutorial on making a server that will receive all the data sent by the client for linux. Most tutorials show you how to do it with a buffer but not receiving all the data, just the amount in the buffer.
