Starting a Sticker Business on Etsy

I just started a business on Etsy selling stickers and handmade log books for things like camping, hiking, making field recordings and samples, printmaking, and lots of other things that people might want to keep track of. I just sold my first pack of stickers this week, and I'm super stoked! I'm using the same stuff mostly, except that I'm also laminating mine (I don't know if that makes a big difference or not, but it did make my stickers look and feel like the ones I've gotten from sticker mule in the past, so that's cool!). Congratulations on your new store! Hopefully we'll both be making lots of extra $$ this year!

Dude! Cool Cool! I'm in to stickers myself. Got my Etsy shop going and working on building up inventory. Have no budget for buying printing equipment and or a cricket cutting machine at this time, love to in the future!. Going with Printful as a partner for the fulfillment, to begin with. Yes, the price will be uncomfortably high which will make marketing much more tricky. We will see! Right now my biggest challenge is keeping it fun and interesting for me, Good luck! Ill be watching. I’m just getting started with stickers myself. One question I have is how do you combine the kiss cut for the stickers and the die cut for the sheet into one sheet? I have the maker 3 if that helps.

Love the Etsy business idea, my wife and I were thinking we could start a sticker business as well. I have been c eating our fist characters. She has the cricut machine already, we just need the materials to print some drafts out and learn how to start on Etsy. Love the video, bro.

Woooow, love this! I am on a similar journey. I'm creating stickers, I just need to open that Etsy shop. This is inspiring! I have the exact same printer! How did you go about using it to print the address on it? Did you have to type the address into Word first, and then format the Word document to fit the envelopes size? I would love to know!

Thanks for the kind words. Good luck opening your shop! I had to mess with a ton of settings, but finally got it to print on the envelope using Apple pages!

There is a free app for iOS that I’m using, called Label Printer (orange and white icon) where you can save and print addresses and even add a small picture to them for a personal touch:) There are possibilities for choosing your label paper size, font sizes and everything. Works just fine for me:)

PS. i have a HP laser printer, this app is not for a specific one so I think it could work for yours if you have Bluetooth in it

Hey! Do you think a thicker paper for your envelopes is needed? I see you use regular ones, but I’ve heard there are some with hard/cardboard back or a kraft CD/DVD type of envelopes/mailers that are harder to bend. I myself still have some book mailers but I think these are unnecessary heavy if you go for the regular A5 size so the shipping wouldn’t be economic. I’ve also heard people inserting a piece of regular cardboard into a normal letter envelope so it won’t bend. Any experience so far you could share with your shipping? Thanks!:)

The envelopes that I use are a card stock material, but I don’t wanna use anything too big or heavy, to keep shipping cost down! Hope that helps 😊

Hi Kaleb! Excellent video! It was to-the-point and informative! Thank you! I've tried printing a few test designs on my Canon inkjet. I found that my prints are destroyed the second any moisture hits 'em. Are you doing anything to help your customers avoid water damage, or do your printer/ink/paper choices make water-resistance stickers? Thanks again!

The products definitely make a difference, but laminating your stickers is a sure fire way to protect them! 😊

I think your shop would do 100 times better if you had 10 times the listings. 2 months later from this video and your shop looks the same and you only have 7 more sales since this date. Not throwing shade, just trying to help. Try making atleast 50-100 more designs within this next month and you can see your store take off.

I like your stickers Kaleb. But I noticed on your Etsy you have only made 11 sales and you’ve been selling since 2022? Those numbers make me very hesitant to start an Etsy business. There are stickers sellers who sell thousands and seem to be getting all the attraction, and those like yourself, who’s numbers don’t make it worthwhile. Any idea why this is? Is Etsy dead?

Carefull about showing your store products and store name , a lot of people on KZbin will go there , steal.your designs and sell them , also how do you think the most popular store on etsy manages to sell 100 stickers for 12$ , how can they have such low production cost
