All type of information is at our fingertips at basically all-times. In the form of the internet, computers, and mobile devices, all the world's knowledge can be instantly accessed. This has been "the norm" for awhile now, and I think most of us probably take it for granted and don't really think about what happens if we can no longer access that endless ocean of information.
So in this video I want to talk about starting your own digital information repository. Collecting hard-copies of books is cool, and I do that too. But there's just no way around the fact that most people don't have the room or the budget collect tens of thousands of books, references, articles, and manuals about every possible subject.
But because we're living in amazing technological times, you can fit absolutely incredible amounts of information in a space smaller than a postage stamp. That's what this video is all about.
---------------------------------------------------------
Here are some of the things I was talking about in the video:
SanDisk 200GB Ultra MicroSD Card
amzn.to/3q4vo0d
Cheapo Android Tablet that accepts MicroSD cards
amzn.to/3c3m6wN
The "Survive Everything" E-Book Bundle:
www.humblebundle.com/books/su...
In this video I also talked about "The Stick Survival Index". This is not mine, and I have nothing to do with it. But if you're interested in accessing it, I'll share where I found it:
The Stick Survival Index
www.indianapolisunderground.c...
You can also download the entire index of 6700 PDFs all at once. At the bottom of this page, there is a link to get a large ZIP file:

This is exactly what I've done. The only difference is that I use a small laptop computer dedicated solely for this purpose instead of a tablet. On the microSD card, I've stored up all of my photos, all of my music (over 1200 CDs), my personal documents, telephone directory, maps, and a ton of survival information. Recently I invested in some small solar panels and a Jackery solar charger unit that is able to run small appliances, including the laptop. I have all of the information I mentioned backed-up on a small external hard drive as well. All of this is easy to grab and go. However, it's usually kept in my B.O.B. Thanks for the tip about the Stick Survival Index! That looks awesome! Fantastic video, Great Lakes!

Thanks Drummer. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of having a backup of all my personal photos and whatnot that's always with me. I'm sure I could fit lots of those on this same SD card. But then I start thinking about my music collection, and the absolute GIGS of video and media for all of my youtube videos and other projects. I guess it's about priorities. I can keep those hard drives in the fireproof safe and that covers it for most things. As for having critical/vital info that's always accessible, I think I'm on the right track.

I'm doing the same here! Saving a large collection of books, ripped youtube channels, music etc! However guys, remember; a hard disk will last about 5 years before corrupting your files. Therefor; buy some 25GB bluray m-disc archival dvds and burn the data on there. these discs, if well preserved, can last a thousand years (no joke!).

Great video! Every Prepper should be doing this. Sadly it's probably an after thought for most. The information to take a long is invaluable. Perfect! 👍👍👍😃

sad part most preppers think this is a wasted of time because of emp's and no eletric. i figure lest i try and if i can get a laptop and a solar panel for hour a day it be worth it to have the info. i been doing it for over 20years. i used to collect books but when i figure i will have a back seat of books that weigh a ton i started this. now i have over 2tb of info. i figure what i have to lose. i not going to carry around 20 books and i probable make a fire with them anyway. a hard drive is little bigger than a phone and a laptop fits in my bag.

Dude I think you're totally on to something special if you figure out how to do all these things on your own storage device and then sell them I'd probably be interested in obtaining one since I'm not very computer savvy but I am some what E.M.P smart so I do know it'd be smart to put it into a Faraday cage to hold that information on that card.

It's a cool idea, but unfortunately I don't have any sort of ownership rights to the MANY publications that would be included on such a thing. I've seen some libraries similar to this for sale on a memory card or similar, but they're basically public-domain docs, which usually means OLD. Old info can be useful, but I personally want a lot of new info also. As far as I can tell, the best way to go is put something together yourself, or see if you can copy a library like this from a friend or family member.

This is a good idea for low power computers. Raspberry pi, intel atom tablet, low power laptop etc etc. Of note too an SDR would allow you to monitor radio frequencies of all sorts - gps dongle with offline maps would be immensely useful as well.

FYI watch youtube and down load video you want to keep for your files. you wont believe how many hours i have on prepping.
