Hello, Mr Wright I have a Toro Groundmaster 322d almost identical to yours and when I turn the key it tries to start but when I let the key go it shuts off. The man we bought it from said that he mowed with it and when he parked it it shut off and hasn't ran since. I have put in a new battery, new nipples on the injectors, and checked the wiring over and over. the ignition is different someone has bypassed the one on the circuit board and put in another one that sets outside the board by its self. I can start it but when I let go of the key it flips back off and shuts off. I have tried other ignitions from my other Toro mowers and I cant get one to start it. Do you have any suggestions? Thank You

If it starts but won't stay running it seems it must be the ignition switch.You have to get one that has 3 positions,start,on and off.Sounds like yours is broken on the inside.I don't have this good ole dog anymore but it was a great machine.One thing I did do was cut the main hot wire and install a cutoff switch in-line to keep a drain from killing the battery.I was constantly replacing the start button.The cheap automotive type just didn't last long.Another thing to keep an eye on is the hot wire that plugs onto the starter,I had it come loose and of course it would not start. There is also a destroke t handle on the transomission ,if it gets screwed in it will not move,good luck !

Im trying to replace belt that turn drive shaft for cutting blades no luck need help. belt from engine to pulley. I work at golf course V A westwood CA

I think there are 2 different belts you can use ,one is a banded belt,as in a one piece and the other is to use 2 separate belts.I've had the 2 belt and only 1 was turning the driveshaft so it had now mowing power.There is a small belt retainer to help keep the belt on so make sure that is out of the way and I've found so many time the easy way is not the right way,take a look at what you are trying to do. Do you know where the grease fitting for the center spindle on the mower deck is located? I work at a golf course in Oregon , and we have a 322D similar to this except not quite as old. It runs and cuts good, nobody maintained it for years apparently . I run it because nobody else ever wants to, it's always available and I prefer the out front deck to the newer ZTR mowers they use now. I'd like to keep the old thing going as long as possible....
