I would say that the best way for a free 2 play player to play the game is to play most of it solo outside of doing some PvP and being involved in the cycle of strife. Because as of now those are the only activities that require a team. If some free 2 play players are having problems soloing dungeons. Then they can do dungeons all the way to hell four. Then keep doing hell four dungeons as long as the daily set can spawn at the current hell difficulty that the player has unlocked and done the challenge rift for. So someone that would be able to be in hell 5 and has done a challenge rift 95 (IIRC) that set item from the daily might be at hell 5 instead of hell 4. If true they could keep doing that all of the way till they get to the end of the difficulties and beyond. Being a Shadow will get you extra aspirant keys to upgrade your vessels. Doing battle grounds will get you more keys and reforge stones. Doing things as an immortal, I didn't do much when I was part of the immortal clan, but I got good legendary drops from being the immortal that I couldn't use till later on. Each has its advantages that I don't think that a free to play player would want to pass up by trying to be entirely solo.

Glad to see a CC doing a true FTP on Immortal. Interested to see how you will progress in Dungeons and transition between higher Hell difficulties without grouping as well as FTP? Ambitious and Challenging. FTP is basically what i have been doing since day1. bought the Boon Of Plenty a few times in beginning but no other spending since. I.E. only 750RES never bought a significant amount of crests etc. it used to be hard to group so i rarely did dungeons I.E. had no good Set Pieces until recently. to this day i am not too far off Paragon Lvl and have never completed any WarBand content; not a single run. mostly because grouping used to be difficult and i was pretty casually playing. As true FTP there were gaps between hell lvls where gear gets maxed out and had to grind well above paragon threshold to reach next Hell lvl. Which makes sense as FTP. But now its nerfed all the way to Hell6 so getting there should be FTP friendly. But the same FTP hurdle is now between hell6 and hell7. The gear and set items alone eventually max out short of the next hell CR threshold so you get stuck there for a while progression “Grinds” to a snails pace. only after recent QOL updates has gear became more readily available. and the answer to this issue had historically been to get carried past those gaps in progression as FTP but getting completely carried while running around trying to avoid getting “OneShotted” for days was not the way i enjoyed playing and i almost quit.

I played for free my entire life... Started as a DH changed to Wizard and now thanks to you I'm a Necromancer... Bro tip: don't torture yourself... Unfortunately in Brazil the Dolar -> Real (Brazilian currency) is a MEGA RIPOFF. I'm 413 paragon and 8.5/6 CR played most of the content solo cuz people in my server are kind of "nasty". In order to be polite I won't tell you the server name. After the merge it's been a total mess. Yesterday I was farming bestiary in a group and people simply kicked me out for NO REASON. If they just told me they wanted to guild farm I would step out gladly... TL:DR no 5* gems = VERY HARD/ time consuming because you won't get CR. Your videos have helped me keep on playing even as a f2p and for that, I thank you

damn FTP is a rough road especially doing dungeons solo. getting carried and getting a green from a higher hell difficulty is usually how you get boosted with CR. good luck with this, man.

This is my GF's account and I'm a F2P. No friends they gave up after a few days. I never did Solo just ya know party queues but it was work and I HAVE BEEN HAVING FUN! Got in with a good clan eventually. My res is 300 got Arrow keeper at like 340 paragon but ya know what? I played Diablo for free and won several BGs. Just by strategy, I work not that much harder for it by using tactics. Either way I want to say, you are a great inspiration and my GF knows you by me watching you. I know this is a verbal tip but I'm working on not being poor and paying respect to people like you that just are cool and helped. PS...The angels cosmetic is what I wish I would've been able to pay for! Rock on man!

I'm a 100% F2P(literally $0, not even the $5 Battle Passes) Barb since launch. I've pushed every BG in every Immortal Reign, and have made the top 10-30 each time. I am currently sitting 3rd place Barb in BG's on The Worldstone server. I'm only 920 Res, but 8984 combat rating. I just like to play the game for fun, and I didn't want to sink any money into the game so I could see where I would get without putting money into the game. In BG's I don't get much kills, I tend to die a bit depending on the team/opposite team and being attacker/defender, but I do rack up a lot of Assists! I'm at like 80-90 kills, and like 1500+ Assists in BG's this Immortal Reign so far! So, for a F2P player like myself I would say I'm doing fairly decent. Just gotta grind, push hard, and use the skills I've got! :)

Been an F2P since day 1, currently on paragon 316 reso 570. I'd say it will be time consuming to get where you want to be BUT you tend to try to work what you currently have which where the fun is for me. It is alot easier now compared before with the new patch. MKB, DE and rapids are the easiest solo dg for me as a demon hunter. The success it getting leg and green items with so little magic find makes it fun and of course the grind. 😅

I think your experiment is flawed. Free to play players are constantly looking for groups, not going solo. What you’re trying experience is not really what a FTP player would.

Most people in this game seems to be F2P. One of my best friends ingame is F2P also. He is the best player I know and he devotes his time helping new players getting stronger and explaining everything. He knows a lot more about the game than whales as he has researched pretty much every game mechanic to make his character stronger without paying. Shoutout to Joa.

There is only like a few missions you need a party for but most of them were helliquary. There is only a few guide missions other than that you han be 100% solo. I have a wizard, demon hunter, necromancer, and monk. I just solo everything because I don't really have friends.

If you're going at it solo it has to be Demon hunter unfortunately. The one and 2 star gems work real well with DH and you know they put out good solo damage.

I've spent some money, mostly with cosmetics and the difference vs whales is huge. Even while doing simple dungeons whales have basically twice my damage, they melt bosses. They can run every dungeon solo while the only one I can do at a good speed is kikuras. Anyway, since I don't pvp, that doesn't bother me at all.

I am pure free to play, no battle pass ever purchased. Resonance 840, Paragon level 347, Combat Rating 7200, Class Wizard: Last Battle ground ranks top 6 in 2 cycles. I played with the whales all over my region in BG. with no problem. Players in the top 10 have 3x my resonance minimum.

I did those exact thing for quite a long while. I can tell you that it's technically POSSIBLE, but holy crap, it's going to take a looooooong time to get anywhere. Just wait until you calculate how many fabled wisps you need to actually upgrade a set item at your level... that you had to get from farming 2 Hell levels below...

Some people ceratinly do the 100% solo thing but most F2P players join random dungeon groups, WBs, OW farming groups and/or clans. You're making life harder on yourself than needed. I'm an F2P. Necro with 8.6k CR.

The only issue I am seeing with this is the fact F2P players take advantage of every thing they can to up themselves. Warbands are a big plus to that, group regular crests in elder rifts for the 120 a week max on top of the 280 for 400 faded embers. the 4 man groups chests in dungeons. You are missing on a lot of the perks of F2P. even 4 man groups for regular gems. How are you going to do raid bosses? if you want to have a second person or get 8 players that are bored to help I will. TwerKing on Triune server.

Short answer = yeah you totally can. I’ve never spent a cent and play only a few hrs a week doing whatever I want. Got a couple of 5 stars paragon 275 and don’t really have any trouble murdering anything.

hard-core f2p here. always on every leaderboard top20 in my class. But solo? lord no. tried that for a while takes 3x longer for everything. You can open world 24/7 and not get anywhere
