As a professional time traveller, I can confirm that the time machine used in this video was definitely a REAL Time Machine. In fact, I used that very same model to travel back in time to post this comment before the video was even released! The Combrewter 2.0 is incredibly complicated, inefficient and fun, so it's perfectly Zedaphy!

Zedaph! Don’t throw away your apple flinger designs! Sell the blueprints to another Hermit, they could be a great base for mini-games! I can already picture both a betting game about where the most apples would land, as well as a catching game where if they land on the ground a hopper gobbles them up!

Observation 12: it looks like news of Zedaph's testing on Hermits has spread, as Grian conducts his business transaction through the glass. Zed may need to resort to other methods of recruiting test subjects... perhaps a hidden pit that swallows the unsuspecting hermit and deposits them in the Chamber...but there may be some more brave souls that will volunteer before that's necessary. I have explored the previous season's base. The combrewter is quite a marvel if the steps are done in the correct order. Other Hermits had less success due to not reading instructions, and I will be eager to see how Zedaph will take human error out of the equation. There may be a childlike joy in watching things fling through the air, but the precision needed for the apparatus to work properly took some doing. It's been a good look into the mind of subject Zedaph as he worked this out. I'm waiting to see how he programs this version to brew on demand.

Obviously, the solution is not to detect when an item is launched, but rather to know when it _will_ be launched. You can establish a predefined sequence of items and time how long it takes to go through the whole list. Then make a Redstone clock that pushes a block into position only at the beginning of the sequence, allowing the signal from a pulse extender to travel through for but a moment, causing the "closing" sequence to begin, a sequence defined by the order in the series. Alternatively, you can have a constant stock of "dummy" items that will never be used in potions cycling around, and when at potion is selected, put the items for that potion into the sequence, triggering the trapdoor after x amount of time, where x is the time until they get to the front of the queue (rename the dummy items so they don't stack with the actual ingredients). I'd tend to prefer the latter solution, as it allows for greater control over how the trapdoor operates (for instance, you could make the ingredients staggered in between the dummy items), doesn't require measures to respond to the expenditure of items in the sequence, can have a greater amount of variability in the items that are flying (you can actually make them random, for instance), and can start immediately after the potion is selected.
@rowanhensley3615

The second solution sounds very effective. I think I may use it myself.

I love the plan with the brewer, and it also doubles as a really cool minigame - manually trigger the trapdoor to brew the potion requested. Timed of course, and if they catch the wrong ingredient, they do have to take time to get it out before trying to grab the right one. I'd play that.
@Lumaraf1
@Lumaraf1 2 жыл бұрын
Interesting start for your new brewer system. You could send out the ingredients randomly and use an item comparator before shooting them across the room to detect if that is an item that should be caught. Having random stuff fly around and having to wait for the machine to find the right ingredient should be more fun to watch than always having a fixed order it rotates through.

this is exactly the kind of hilariously extra nonsense that only you could do XD I one thing I'm worried about is continuing to have the order be correct after you've pulled one item out? like if you pull a netherwort, you have to make sure another one gets put into the rotation so that the order doesn't get messed up!

I looooove the idea for the Combrewter 2.0! Could you perhaps have 4 trap doors on the ceiling which open to block the item just on the edge of the hopper? I will analyse the intro. I will especially analyse the part, where he leans on the h. He leans on the h, it tilts, he makes it untiltet and leans back on it. Next I want to look at the definition of crazyness: do something over and over again, and expect different outcomes. So in the intro he repeats the act of leaning on the h , wich resulted in a negative experience, but he doesn't care, because he does repeat the action. But this time its another outcome, wich results in a crazy never give up morale.

You could totally make a mini game with trying to flap the trap door at the right time to make the potions. You saw how hard it was and it could be fun! Or you could use the first erretic design for the flinger to do a catch game where they are trying to catch certain items and avoid others from several dropers. BEST YET, combine the two! Try to catch the correct ingredients, and then put everything you catch into a precise flinger and have to trap door it into a potion!

I dont know if it will matter as it is directional but instead of a fence post you can put an open gate under and a cake with 2 bites out of it to get the item a smidge closer to the lower flinging pison. Being closer they might go that much further this is the closest I could get items to the flinging pistons. Unfortunately cakes are placed and lose bites in specific directions so only one side could use this method.
