Had the same problem with the supply line to the master cylinder. Original line is steel and hose connections between the reservoir and the pipe. Entire pipe was rotted under hose section letting water in. Had to replace all wheel cylinders and connecting lines with copper nickel alloy including the supply line. All good after that.

Hi. Yes, I might have to do the same. In fact it's still sat in the corner of my workshop awaiting attention!

Matt, it was a pleasant watch whilst enjoying a cuppa in my garden.

Splendid!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I might do a short film of bleeding the brakes and sorting out the winch. Have a good weekend!

My M180 never started so "easy". But now im really happy with my OM617 diesel. It starts with one push. About the brakes I would advise to remove all wheels and inspect the Cilinders. They probably leak a bit if your mog standing for so long. The reservoir should stay topped up. So better to replace the hoses and bad lines. Revision kits for the brake cilinders are pretty cheap. So won't hurt to get those. But great to see your unimog running again!!

Hi Victor! Thanks for your message, An OM617, nice!! I am quite happy with the lack of power from the 2.2 petrol engine, it is fine and it works. Yes, the brakes probably need freeing off, an easy job. In fact most jobs on this are not too hard.

Thet is strange. I have 2 unimog 404S M180 and they start verry easy. Even after standing stil for a year...

@@udowillaert2854 hi Udo. As soon as there is fuel in the float chamber it starts straight up. The problem is the fuel leaks back to the tank over time, I guess there is a one way valve in the fuel pump that has stuck open, or something like that. Cheers, Matt

Maybe address the brake fluid leak before bleeding? Same for the coolant and squealing belts.

i think the Unimog uses Dot3

And DOT4

You should have exhausted the pipes completely after refilling. Just refilling won't work. And not just water in the cooler, always with anit freeze additive. Not because of frost but because of anti corrosion.

Yes! My poor Unimog does get neglected a bit! It is now in my workshop and when I have time I will carry out some routine maintenance.
