I'm recently single, moved across the world from New Zealand back to Canada and have started a new job at 32. I feel like a new person and have a lot of thoughts on relationships, finance, friendships, careers and the psychology around starting fresh in your 30's. Join me on this chatty sit down vlog to discuss all the things that have been going on inside my head over the last few months! I would love to hear your thoughts below on the subject!

Great post... I have been wanting to go to New Zealand and I happened upon upon your blogs and binge watched all of the New Zealand and Australia segments and they where informative and enjoyable. You are quite eloquent when you speak, you do not come across as an introvert. As for the topic where someone said, that people should have $100,000 by the time they are thirty, well that is a stretch for the average person. I did accomplish that goal, but it was a different time and I started reading finance books, when I was 12 years old and went into banking and finance. The world has changed and it is almost enough for the average thirty year old at this point, to be able to have their own apartment. Good luck with your life choices and maybe consider getting into Marketing or Public Relations for a company that fits your interest, because you seem like a natural fit.

I feel bad for all the folks in their thirties who are in mountains of debt. I'm so glad I'm not in debt and learned to turn the water heater off. Massive debt in one's thirties feels like just another word for doom. Good video!

Can I ask how you've been able to save up $100,000 while working jobs like at a brewery? I'd be interested to hear more about your story and how you've been able to accomplish that, like if you went to uni for anything or what financial decisions you've made that helped the most (besides an RRSP)? Congrats on your achievements! :)

Of course! I'm always open about money and everything I've done to get where I am. I used to work in commercial sales for a fire/security company and made between $50-$90K for about 6 years. I don't have any post secondary education so never had student debt. The years I worked in commercial sales I got super into FIRE and was saving $20-$30K some years by keeping my expenses really low. It set me up to be able to work for $20/hr at a brewery now doing something I love. Now I save a LOT less (like maybe $500/mo) but the lifestyle is perfect for me and exactly what I want to be doing.

Great video Brittany. You have a very healthy perspective on life. Your openness and bravery is helping others. Everyone has different paths in life but the most important for all of us is to try to live the life where we make our choices (both good and bad) as opposed to feeling that things are beyond our control. You are a great inspiration for how a person can find purpose and meaning even when faced with adversity.

Wow, Brittany! How old are you again? You're so smart, wise, and beautiful-it’s hard to believe you’re just 32 years old. You are truly an old soul. I’m more than double your age, and I’m so impressed by your life wisdom. It’s rare to see this level of insight in the younger generation. I completely agree with everything you said here. Every point you made is so valid. Poor financial decisions, or a lack of financial planning, can really disrupt the happiness in life. You’ve done such a great job, girl. I'm so happy for you and the path you’re on. Keep doing what you’re doing, and enjoy every moment. Lots of love from both of us here.💖
