Starting Over Season 2, Episode 39

So... I cheated on my rule not to watch these, and watched the parts with Ed. 😂 It was so awkward - at least the parts shown, I don't remember it feeling that way at the time. It was like I was there to date and he was there to be a friend, so that all felt weird through editing. I'd have a crush on and off on Ed for years already, but lived in the 'friend zone' so that part wasn't unusual, I just felt like it was a bit of an ambush on him, the way my confessionals made it sound. Haha. I WILL say, for those who didn't follow after I left the show, that I eventually moved to San Diego where Ed lived, and we DID end up dating for a few months. Such a good guy, and I can't really tell you what ended it. I think I was just fresh off the show and had this body I didn't recognize, and a long term relationship was more than I could handle at the time. We stayed friends, and while we don't talk these days (mostly), there is a touch base on social media from time to time.
Kim's husband Dave came to visit the house, and it was such a joy to see them together! I still ask people to tell me their 'love story' to this day, and I take every bit of the same pleasure in whatever that story is. Seeing Kim with Dave really shifted my perception of her too.
Mo (Maureen) had a very tough exercise, and spends the day reflecting on her losses, and grieving. It was hard to watch, and honestly it was probably harder for Mo because Kim was on cloud 9 with her hubby, and I had Ed come to visit. There was something about being in the house, and going through something SUPER emotional and hard, and then having one or more of your housemates going through something SUPER happy at the same time. Very conflicting, emotionally, and as a friend/ support system. It's the same IRL, but being confined to a house together, it's amplified in some way...

I forgot how much Kim really loves Dave & it was so touching to see that love demonstrated & Felt by all the ladies there. Kim's such a softie after all ❤ Much respect for Kim for her love & softness she freely showed for Dave.

Iyanla is crazy sometimes. These women often back down because she deepens her voice and speaks with authority. Here is what they needed to say: "I am not required to maintain a relationship with an abuser. My sister has verbally, emotionally and mentally abused me.
