I love the last section where you show the giant starts that you seeded not too long ago. Wow!!!! Beautiful. I do question how you untangle the roots? I had lettuce starts in the cubes and I had to pull the rockwool apart and some of the roots had grown into its neighbors rockwool. It was not good. Do you have that problem?

They do sometimes but it doesn't harm them to tear them apart and loose a few roots. I just separate them carefully.

When using the water heater, would the air temperature around 60° still work for growing tomatoes and peppers?
@theaeroponictowerchannel Жыл бұрын
I think so. Tomatoes can fruit at 60 degrees and pepper at 65. I have a growing indoors video coming out tomorrow where I share what I think are the best options to grow indoors. They are a micro dwarf varieties that still taste great. They would probably be the best option to start with.

I'm homesteading with them and plan to grow all our own tomatoes to can, melons, winter squash for the year, and dried beans so I have 9 but need 12 to do all of that. To take a big chunk out of the grocery store you need 6 (2 Family Garden kits). 1 Family garden kit is also a great option to start to really replace the grocery store for many things. It also depends on how much produce you consume. stan.store/Theaeroponictowerchannel

Why you don't give us other options than rock wool and the seeds needs light in the beginning or not and in winter what we should use to succeed

I don't understand the question? I only use rockwool and a seed starting set up so I can't recommend other options since I have only had success using this method. I start seeds every 2 weeks and this is the method I use and what works.

@@theaeroponictowerchannel when you put the seeds you put them under the light and in winter you use heat to help it grow
@theaeroponictowerchannel9 ай бұрын
I use the heat at as long as the temperature in the room is below 75. The heat mat really is more to create a greenhouse effect when the seeds are germinating and then to excel growth after you remove the dome. Things grow faster when it's warm. I hope that answers the question! Let me know if not! I appreciate the questions so I know how to better explain things in future videos. @@HNA12615

I may not have mentioned it. I water when they dry out a little. I keep them moist. Not sitting in water or dripping water just evenly moist. I feed with nutrient water once they get their true leaves. I just pull nutrient water out of my tank.

Is the Rockwall sitting in a little bit of water or do you just water the Rockwall? I may be overwatering and also I wonder about my heat map I got a five or son, but it seems too hot.
@theaeroponictowerchannel Жыл бұрын
I soak for 20 minutes then drain initially. After that I water them until wet but not sitting in water. You can use a meat thermometer to check the temp of your rockwool. Ideal is aroung 75. @@CAMDEC1217
