It really does work too.....gets the plant's cuticle and outer layers tougher and more resilient. Essentially let's you mini-harden them off while also slowing down the crazy lush growth. Cheers, thanks for watching! 🙂

@@TheRipeTomatoFarms Sure! Once you brought it up my mind went over things I seem and photoed in Nature and it made complete sense. My issue is no indoor space the wife's cats cannot access. [[Ask my bean and chia sprouts]] :/

Starting too early and starting too many. My two biggest mistakes when I first started. I didn’t have the money or space to house all those seedlings indoors, but couldn’t bear to cull. The time and energy it took hauling dozens of trays outside and back in everyday to harden them off had me tired before the season even began. 😅🤣 Then scrambling to cover them all when a late frost hit? Forget about it. Now I start 2-3 weeks later on my warm season veggies and I avoid all of those headaches. Thanks to your videos, I started a fall/winter indoor herb garden at the end of last season and started my onion seeds indoor on-time (for once). I also Winter Sow. Those three things keep me plenty busy during the “off-season”, and I don’t have that itch to get to start early because I haven’t really stopped.

Hi Jeff! I thought South Florida would be immune to cold-ish weather in mid March, but it even went nuts down here! We had 40+ mph wind gusts the last 2 days, followed by today, when the temperature dropped 28 degrees in mid-afternoon! Glad to see that wind helps those seedlings. 🙂 I just potted the green bush beans, red vining beans, peas, lettuce, & carrots outside this week. The potatoes & green onions are very happy, hoping the rest do as well. Sincere thanks to you, Jeff, without your encouraging words along the way, I am sure I'd not have branched out this much! 🍀

Unusual freeze expected in north central Florida tonight. I just moved 46 containers of seedlings from out on the patio into my washer/dryer/workbench shed. Tonight I'll put a space heater in there until I go to bed. The raised beds are another story. I'll have to cover what already came up with straw and old bedsheets. Oh, well; I have plenty of seeds.

Im in Pa. , its Feb 7 and i am kicking myself now for not waiting planting my tomato seeds. Right now i have them right next to my wood stove ,on a heat mat next to a 6ft high window. Usually outdoor planting time here is mid May. I was thinking about buying a grow light and move them down my basement where it is cooler until May. Do you think this might work?

Hi Jeff. I started some spinach seeds a few weeks ago and have them under lites of 4200 L & 5000 K. After a few inches of growth they started to produce flowers. The room is not warm and I have only fed them 5-1-1 once. Last year all my peppers set flowers as well. Very concerning. Do you have any ideas
