Its a good kit,the oval looking grille you seen is actually a 38 grille,I had to put Kragars on mine had to do alot of trimming on the rims to get it to fit right but it looks good

DAM that's nice, awesome color. FYI you do see some extremely nice cars at a TROG race so you are right we do need a couple really nice rides in our scale race.
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob, I thought I would do a nice clean ride, I see almost all the builds are the old school flat paint, cool look, had to be different. Have a good one!

I love that EXP. I had one, black, 5 speed. I believe it had the 1.9 in it, the one that used to drop valve seats if you got it hot. Was a neat little beater.
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul, my little 82 I had was one of the coolest little rides, mine had the 1.6 Kent engine with a 4 speed. Would love to get another one one day..

It looks great so far.....not sure I've seen anything so pretty at a TROG event though 😉. Are you really gonna want to hand paint numbers on the side of that? That Seafoam turquoise is an awesome color. I hope mine turns out as good on the Marlin.
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob, you have to have one shiny paint job in the race, I was surprised to see you painting the same color, awesome... and yes my number 20 will go on the hood and both doors, not sure the color maybe red..
@ScaleSpeedworks Жыл бұрын
Those colors are absolutely stunning! I love the turquoise over silver, great look 👍 I’m working on the same truck and I was disappointed by the tire and engine choices. I threw in a Desoto Fire Dome to give it some real power!
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, nice engine upgrade, I was not impressed by the tire selection, so I turned it into a dually..

Wow! That looks great. I've noticed some guys start on the body first and then go on to the other parts of the kit. I may have to give this a try, just to change things up a bit.
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Thanks JD, for me its always the body paint first, so I can let it cure, time I finish with the rest the paint will hopefully be ready to work on.. hopefully.. Have a good one!

Thanks, yes this is a nice kit, I have built most of it and it fits together nice, I had thought about some rust, maybe a cracked window?

Kreg, Great color choices and paint work. What brand & model of Dehydrator are you using. Thanks in advance for any info. Take care, Rick
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, appreciate it! I'm using the Ivation 9 Tray Dehydrator, works well. I had it for over a year with no problems and its on most times I'm in the hobby room. I cure the enamels for around 15hrs at 113f.. Thanks for the comment!
@Bubbasmodelcarshop Жыл бұрын
what a great build an colors. question after you paint your body and parts. how long do you keep them in your hydrator to cure them. thanks mike
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, I like the colors, works well, this was in for a few hours, most of the time I will bake it for about 15 plus hours and will be almost full cure. After the video back in it went.

What was the needle size and the PSI
@kregskorner8851 Жыл бұрын
Hey Leon, the brush has a 3mm needle and I use around 19 psi. Has been working good on most solid and metallic paints... Have a good one Leon!
