Luke Towan, I’m thinking of how you could make the building visually interesting since it is just a big glass slab after all. Thoughts include: - Glass lookout box like the Sears Tower - Blinking red lights at the tip of the communications antennas which will inevitably be put on top - Helicopter landing pad, with appropriate blinking lights and helicopter with spinning rotors - Plaza at entrance of building, with manicured trees, flower boxes, a water feature/splash pad (with dog playing in water jets), flicks of pigeons, street musician, food truck? - Window washer platform dangling off the side You could cram so much stuff into this one!

Model New York City skyline coming soon? Imo, the mix between the ambient led's and detailed room led's looks alot more realistic from a modern standpoint. Not everyone buys the same type of lightbulb so it makes it seem as if there's a mix between incandecent and cfl bulbs in each unit. Mixed with your tape idea it would be very believable.
@BoulderCreekRailroad
@BoulderCreekRailroad 4 жыл бұрын
yeah that is very true, I did think about leaving it as it was but in the end I made them to be a similar color. But yeah for a more modern building the variation would probably be good... heck, I've got two different colored bulbs in our lounge room! One in each light fixture...

i think the color difference of the bright white and the warmer tones make it more realistic! not everyone likes the same tones of lighting in a big apartment building ❤️

Really beautiful model thanks to all the extra work you did. Painting every single piece of furniture with different colors, making carpets and posters and wall pictures, glueing all that in every room...requires tons of patience. The LED installation and choice of dim over bright light is another good idea. Very well done. Congratulations.

Most of what I've made I keep but some of the older models eventually get dismantled to either make space or to build new models. This high rise building wont be going anywhere though, it's one of my favorites!

The latest Blade Runner is all scale models for the city scapes and it's amazing. Scale models are certainly used these days as a lot of film makers realize pure CGI just don't look right often.
@sheep1ewe

I must agree with that, it's realy hard to make CGI look that good, and old movies with actual models is a pice of art in it's own that can not realy be replaced by computer modelling.
