Just a tip for next time...headers over windows and doors are oriented vertically. A 2x4 laid flat cannot support near the weight of a proper doubled up 2x6. Technically the flat 2x4 isn't even a header, its just a drywall nailer.

What good does it do to build it if you don't tell anybody what you're doing

Great video! It’s nice you get to work with your pops! I’m planning a build like this in 22’ sometime across the field from my folks place. Looking forward to being back home again in MT and having my dad help me build. New sub.

What was your total framing cost?

I like the way you left the post exposed and finished after sheetrock (saw it in another vid) I am doing the same only going to case it in hardwood. Great videos and information. Sub'd

Just found your channel and sub’d. This is the exact content I need. Wife and I are planning a steel building home/hangar build starting next year. Land purchase planned for spring/summer of ‘21. I want to diy as much as I can and may document my build on KZbin...

Love the videos! What is the total living square footage, and what was the total cost for framing?
@FromScratchRanch4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you like the videos. The living space is 1100 square feet. I am not totally sure what the framing cos was yet. Lumber alone was at least $2,000 though. I have been keeping track of all my receipts and have kept good records, but haven't had time to analyze it all yet. I plan on putting a detailed cost video together when it is all done. Should be a good one, so keep an eye out for it sometime this summer hopefully.

Good video but please cut back on the loud music. If your making a "how to video", the music is annoying, also if you don't own the music rights, you can't monetize your videos.

Did that circular saw struggle cutting the 2x10?
@FromScratchRanch4 жыл бұрын
Not at all. I have been surprised how well that Kobalt saw has performed and still continues to cut well. The battery even lasts me quite a while before having to recharge.
