Note: Those are NOT expansion joints, they are "Control Joints". Expansion joints are for movement & control joints are for control cracks in the concrete.

I'm so impressed with Makayla knowing how to weld. While I'm almost 60 and don't, yet, I want to learn. Even if she goes on to college, it will be a life skill that will always be in high demand for the foreseeable future. I like watching/listening to Mike Rowe and like he says the average age of those in the trades is creating a future shortage. Makayla's welding ability will assure that she will always have a skill that is in high demand. I would also like to add that there's nothing wrong with going into the trades (welder) vs. college. I got a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in the early 90s and got very little use out of it.

Hi, I bought the product you're using in your video because it looked really easy and I'm really frustrated because it didn't work for me. Could you please tell me if you downloaded an app or did something else that isn't shown in the video? Thanks.

Ok before you all get yourselves all worked up about this POS Extender/Access point, let me throw some cold water on you. This thing is garbage. And I can back this up with 26 years in the IT sector. The online set up is brutal. The marvelously UNdetailed instructions were clearly translated from the Chinese. The videos all use out of date webpages as examples. The voices on the videos are the mechanical "AI" type voices with mispronunciations. It's just....all....bad. Now getting back to the online setup, my experience is that setting up as an extender is damn near impossible. I would get part way through the setup and it would factory reset and go back to the beginning. Once or twice I would get to the end and think I had done it but it wouldn't broadcast (again, as a wireless extender) or then inevitably it would reset itself and I'd be back to factory settings. It seemed like it would work fine as an access point, but not as an extender. Now...after plugging away at it for 6 hours, I got annoyed enough that I put it away. But once again today, because I'm a glutton for punishment, I unboxed it to give it another try. So I go through the setup routine as an extender one last time and lo and behold, Saints be Praised, Faith and Begorrah, Hallelujah the bloody thing seems to be working BUT..... I'm only getting half the distance it's supposed to have in line of sight with no obstacles. I'm out in the country. Zero people around. There's a cabin about 100 ft away and my wifi disappears at about 53 ft from the extender. So....do some reading. Research the hell out of this thing before you spend money on it or anything else Made in China. I bet their wifi extenders in-country work just fine. Meanwhile, they ship all their junk to North America and laugh all the way to the bank. Caveat Emptor.

Nice review! Still working? Cellular worth it?
@FromScratchRanchАй бұрын
Thanks! Yes, it still works great. It is great being able to check the feed levels and the battery level anytime, and to be alerted if needed. I have even changed the time of day and quantity of feed it spreads as we got closer to opening day. I think it is definitely worth it if your feeders are remote. If they are positioned close to home, then probably not.
@DossFarmАй бұрын
@@FromScratchRanch just picked one up for $150 at academy. Plus the solar pack. Set up was a bit of a hassle. I only had one bag of corn and the feed level detector wouldn’t read just one bag. No biggie but interesting. Working so far. 👊🏻 It’s only 800 feet from my house but oh well haha

WOW, your place is looking amazing. That view is incredible. I'm working on property not far from you, Theodosia, MO area. The cabling process is VERY familiar. I was a KC-135 mechanic in the USAF, landing gear and flight controls. Every flight control is controlled by cables and balance bays. Rigging controls and getting the cable tensions just right is a challenge. Some cables were pre-made but others had to be manufactured on site using a similar process. However, we had a pneumatic cable swagger. 😁 I'm curious to know how temperature changes impact the 80+ foot section. The railing looks great, excellent job.
@FromScratchRanchАй бұрын
Thank you. I haven't noticed any real issues with temperature change, although I have had to come back and retighten a couple strands on the shorter runs, but I don't think that had anything to do with temperature change.

Yes, the new level of brightness I have in the shop now is great! You don't really realize it until you work on a project and the extra lighting is so beneficial.

Great video, quick question. Can this single unit transmit a wifi signal from my T-Mobile Home Internet router approximately 250 ft to a smart TV in my shop (wood construction with vinyl siding and aluminum garage doors)? Thanks in advance.
@FromScratchRanchАй бұрын
Yes, it should. I did something very similar and it worked great. Before we had out new fiber optic internet line run to the new house we just built, I connected my new smart tv in the house to the Wavlink access point that was mounted to our barn 300+ feet away.

Are you planning on adding flooring? We have a metal spiral staircase and are changing flooring soon, but I have no idea how to replace the carpet that our staircase is sitting on😅 or if it will crush the laminate we will be putting under it since it it pressed into the carpet so hard
@FromScratchRanchАй бұрын
We are not planning on installing any flooring. If we were to though, I would install the laminate flooring around the pole base of the stair case and trim it out with some quarter round or something to make it look nice. I would not put the laminate underneath. It is probably okay to just leave your carpet under it.

Had you performed preventative maintenance on the auger assembly and replaced the teeth and the center part, what would that have cost? Do the teeth unscrew or are they riveted? I am going to purchase a used digger and want to know what my costs will be. Thank you. I am looking at used versions of yours. Thanks!
@FromScratchRanchАй бұрын
I just had to actually replace the teeth and pilot bit the other day because I have warn them down since replacing the whole unit a while ago. The teeth were $15 a piece and there are 4 of them so it was $60. The pilot bit was $110 for the standard or $180 for the carbide tipped.

Love the vid. I am currently thinking of using this in my garage space as I have tried many devices and no real improvement. Home has a large amount of steel ibeams, especially in the garage. Router is on the second floor of home. I presently have a moca connection using coaX for my TV reception in the garage. For a hard wire connection, I would run ethernet from this new device into a switch. From the switch then to my tivo box which is the coax connection for the television. I actually may not need to hard wire the new device providing this device which I would use as an extender improves upload and download speeds for my music streaming. Let me know your thoughts. thx.
