Try watching Voltes V Legacy trailer on youtube. They made a live action of Voltes V and remained true to the original source material. The volt-in sequence was also perfectly recreated. Gave me goosebumps.

I didn't cry, but I freaking loved this show. (I'm 48) I miss the cartoons of the 80s. I watched a bootleg version of Starblazers (Yamato). It was a 2010 movie with great subtitles. I heard that Australia made a version with English voices.

+MartyvH I could never be a Lion pilot. The other day it took me 40 minutes to find my keys. A Robeast would be doing the Green Lion doggy style with Pidge yelling at me "Dean!! Yahhhrrgg, help me, Dean! Help me!!" and I'd be there powerless apologizing while looking in the pants I was wearing yesterday trying to find that friggin' key! They should at least put a key ring on that shit.

Sven was my dude... I was like who is this cool laid back dude with an interesting accent I never heard before in my life (I was young). Then they had to go an maim his ass. I was like when is he going to get better so that he can come back to the Blue Lion. Then years later I find out in the Japanese version he actually died.. and that the dude that showed up later was not him but his twin brother.

I never understood their unmatched color combinations with the pilots and lions. Only the green lion (Pidge) had a green uniform. Everyone else picked whatever the hell they wanted. Red and white for the black lion. Black and white for the blue lion. Blue uniform for the red lion and orange uniform for the yellow lion. It made interesting I guess.

Luis Diaz Could be wrong, but I believe it - and a lot of other weirdness associated with the show - was due to the fact that the show was sorta pieced together from multiple anime series, which were apparently quite different than the end product we got in the West.

One of the things I did love was that the lions were essentially just machines, powerful ones, but it was on their pilots to know how to use them. Also that we saw the team doing other things, sometimes with their lions, and if the bad guys showed up, they had to get to the lions to use them.

A different character suddenly appears in the next aired episode and the master tape of the episode where it happened is kept in a vault while the producers hope it dosen't get leaked until the show is long forgotten. Then 40 years later when they come out with the retro Super Platnum Deluxe boxed edition Voltron disc set, they include the "lost" episode and use it as a selling point for all of the drooling fanboys. That's what happens if someone loses grip of the bar. :)

They didnt have the key to the black lion, hence only the 4 went. Allura and coran find out the mice had it and thus the black lion and pidge went into battle

Catching as many episodes as I could with the original GoLion series of this, I think the show would have done way better in Japan if they used the music and sound effects that America had edited with. Granted, there was a lot of mecca styled anime to compete with, but the American sound editing made Voltron(GoLion) appear way more heroic. But that's just my opinion

After all these years, I just noticed this scene doesn't make sense. Keith is supposedly piloting the Green Lion here (because they haven't found the Black Lion yet.) BUT.... he actually takes the elevator (#1) to the Black Lion, not the Green Lion, because they decided not to animate an original scene.
