The Apostles received Eucharist BY THE HAND. when we receive by the hand we reach out for the Eucharist. We willingly reach out. We, in that holy gesture, seek to understand the “breaking of the bread” in a sacramental gesture that requires our participation, thereby empowering us to freely choose to receive. While I have no problem with some people receiving on the tongue,the idea is full of germs and is a passive act. I will be interested to find out what is announced next Sunday. Apart from having to use 2 walking sticks after hip replacements, I have received my Lord in the hand. Now due to using a walker, which makes it awkward to turn after receiveing my Lord. I've been told to sit and wait for the Priest or Deacon to come to me. Twice I've been forgotten, the ushers who recieve our Lord last in the queue, now remind the Priest to bring Holy Communion to those who are on the frail side. In some Parishes the frail ones receive Communion first. I Love my Lord, I believe whole heartedly that I am receiving his Body and Blood in the Host. We have not been offered The Chalice since Covid erupted in 2020.

Even though I stopped going to church for many yes, I still believed that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Jesus and should always be received on the tongue while kneeling in humility. When they started putting the Eucharist in the hands of the people I rejected it because my hands were not consecrated by the Bishop, but full of sin. I also knew particles of the Eucharist can fall on the floor hence the plate put under your chin while receiving. People please realize when you receive the Eucharist in your hands they were not consecrated by the Bishop and the particles that fall to the floor you are stepping Our Lord. I hope and pray that every Church goes back to honoring Our Lord with Love, Respect, and Humility 🙏🕊

At this point in my life i cannot kneel at an alter rail, but I 😊have always received the Eucharist on my tongue. I just don’t put my hands out. It just feels right to me. The kneeling and standing is getting pretty difficult for us long time, devoted Catholics who still manage to get to Service. I believe the Lord is happy to see us attending Mass and spending time in devotion and pray with him? I think we forget why we are there. Our love and adoration for our Lord is in our hearts, not in our knees.

Very true….. this faith n reverence in receiving the Eucharist should be instilled into the hearts minds of the faithful. It’s heartening to see some who go to receive the Eucharist without any reverence at all just as if they are just going to get something that’s being distributed n not really the Body n Blood of Jesus. No spiritual preparation is seen. So sad to see even some of our priests not making the congregation realise or making them feel it’s not just a mere host that is visible to us but it is the bread that is turned into the Body n Blood of Jesus who is truly present in the image of the celebrant priest.

The Holy Eucharist, once consecrated by the Catholic priest, is Jesus Christ Who came down from heaven to enter into it. The introduction of the extra ordinary ministers of the Eucharist has also contributed to the loss in the sacredness of the Eucharist. It looks like anybody can handle the Eucharist anyhow. The priest themselves are to be questioned, we see young priests sitting and giving the Eucharist to be distributed by the extra ordinary Eucharistic ministers. There is more to the decline for the reverence of the Eucharist and the Church should seriously look into this before it worsens. I grew up before Vatican Council II, was an Altar Server, and witnessed the Host falling to the ground or floor several times. When Jesus was among us, in Person, He visited with people of all kinds, including prostitutes and others. Jesus present in the Eucharist today is that same Jesus of His times on earth. As long as Jesus is received with reverence, love and the deepest respect, by faithful Catholics, it doesn't matter who people receive Him from. I am a Eucharistic Minister and attend Novus Ordo Mass, approved by the Church through the Successor to Peter, as is the lay ministries, as well as female Altar servers in the Western Church through a papal 'indult'. When people object to that I remember our Lord's proclamation to St Peter: "... Whatsoever thou shall bind on earth, will be bound in heaven and whatsoever thou shall have loosed on earth shall be loosed in heaven". Maybe those 'trads' should be more concerned about their salvation and not be mired by legalistic hangups - something Jesus was concerned about with the religious establishment of His time on earth and called them out as "hypocrites".

Correct! Our Lady on My Blessed rosary is not just a repetition of Hail Marys, but it is designed around the 150 Psalms. So when you complete all 15 decades of the rosary, you are also including all of the Psalms. You know my rosary is the best weapon against the devil and his temptations. It's quite important that the most holy eucharist be placed upon the tongue so as to discourage any non catholics or non Christians to take advantage of carrying it off for whatever reason they receive in their palm. Quite often it has happened and the priest has to be quite vigilant and observant so as to avoid any desecration of the most holy sacrament of communion. Such acts where easily detected when the eucharist was placed upon the tongue but since distribution of the same came into practice the danger of someone not catholic has escalated in our place. I do agree that the traditional method of receiving upon the tongue is more respectful and that too only after the response "Amen" to the priest's acclamation of "Body and blood of Christ". May the Universal and Holy Catholic Church maintain the traditional method before it's too late. 🙏🙏🙏 (Phillipians 2:10 &11)

Your video is right on! Great. My family is divided by the divisions of the Churches and they do not receive Jesus: the Holy Eucharist at all. If it weren't for the miracle of God keeping my Soul in His Love, their unfair lack of reception of Holy Communion would tear me apart. Yet, really in Your Church world who honestly cares? After not having masses during Covid and then having limitations on how many folks could attend a mass, I realized how important it is to receive ONLY on the tongue. During Covid I made different colored lace veils and lace chapel caps out of respect for the Eucharist. As I wear them, ladies have begun wearing them again. I also will NOT receive the host from a "eucharistic minister", usually a lady, but only from the priest, and if we only have a communion service, i.e. no mass on Monday (it's the priest's day off???!!!!) then only from the male deacon.

Yes, the priest himself washes his hands before he mixes the wine n drop of water. Our hands are not clean, we handle money to pay for our travel to church,we hold the pew n enter to sit. lf we meet someone before entering we shake hands which has become a common gesture Receiving on the tongue was good in the past l pray it returns throughout all Catholic churches

I strongly agree, so, no need to have lay ministers. The reason why its because too many to be attended by the priest. In our school, other than religion teachers male teachers were encouraged to undergo retreat or seminar to help the priest in the holy communion because hundreds or thousands will receive the holy communion. Christians must know and understand that our hands are not consecrated nor have authority to receive the Eucharist by hand, but by the tongue and kneeling with deep humility.
