This is a bonus video to the 2 part series about automating heating in Home Assistant. And I decided to make it as a separate video for 2 reasons:
1) I have tried to make it as a more general guide to starting with AppDaemon in Home Assistant. So it is not specific for the heating.
2) And if it is part of the original video, it would be too detailed.
This is an experiment - after the initial part, where we install AppDaemon, I will dive deep into the code and explain what it does and how it works. I guess it will be very boring for most people, or maybe interesting for someone - I have no idea. But it this helps one person to start writing AppDaemon automations in Home Assistant (or even start writing simple code in Python) I’ll be happy! Please let me know in the comments.
The AppDaemon script is available here: github.com/bruxy70/Heating
AppDaemon configuration: appdaemon.readthedocs.io/en/s...

Well researched and presented, you are doing great. BTW you are a better Python programmer than you are letting on :-) Keep on doing these videos, they are very helpful!!

Mám nainstalován Hass přímo na X86-64 počítači. Mohu si naistalovat AppDaemon doplněk, nebo je v tom nějaký zádrhel...docker, apod.

Well, an experiment. Explaining something for 15 minutes to people who do know what they are looking at. But maybe some will understand. Like when going on vacation and my kinds talking to the local kids, without knowing the language....or maybe not - experiment.

How do you think to improve your skills without having constructive feedback (people critizing your code)?

I do not know about programming, I do not have much experience with it nor the ambition to become a professional programmer. So far, I think I have been improving naturally by coding, different courses, looking at other people's work and having code reviewed as part of source code projects. But if I can compare that to photography, where I have more experience with reviews, then if you want to improve yourself then: - surround you with great photography. Go to exhibitions, buy books, buy pictures, look at how they do things differently, get inspired. - learn something about history and theory, genera concepts (that will also allow you to break them creatively) - be active, experience comes with doing things, get back to your old work and learn from it - as for the reviews, only review when somebody asks you for it. An uninvited review is counterproductive and could be demotivating, upsetting, or even rude. There are always a bunch of "smart people" who know better. So the way the review works is, that the author picks a piece that he/she thinks is perfect - does not know how to move it further. And asks someone who he/she respects for a review. Then it works. Suppose something similar works for programming as well (even though there copying code is not considered bad :) )
