Jack I LOVE this game and have put in a lot of time into it, with and without mods! Please, please, please make this a series! PS. Practice makes perfection, here are a few tips and hints to get ya started! 1. Don't be afraid to pause the game and think for a second. (Stuff happens fast and out of nowhere) 2. If the people have nothing to do they will harvest wood and stone you have selected and move it to building locations. 3. Your foresters lodge, hunting cabin, and gathers hut need to be away from you town. Build a road to them with a house and storage on it. Harvest all the stone in the foresters circle so they have more room for trees. 4. Build a trading post. Little ships will come in with items you can buy that make life nice. And that's where you get animals and seeds, also emergency food. 5. A Market isn't a top priority till later on. Only when you have multiple towns or a wide spread town.

In addition to Devil Alices tips, i also recommend that you always keep the "professions" window open, which makes it easier to administrate jobs on the go. Building a graveyard early is also something i would recommend, as i have experienced that too many deaths made the population in the town too unhappy to breed.

1. you need to have livestock to use the pasture 2. you need to make tools 3. if limit reached set the Resource limit higher or assigne to other task else the worker will idle 4. grow crops. seed them in spring or they dont have enough time to grow 5. check the radius of buidings befor placing them for examle the hunter cabin 6. you dont need the marketplace yet or atleast dont assign so many people to it 7. please play all tutorials because this game gets difficult rather fast 8. if you fail start with large map its easyer over time if you dont have to worry about space 9. shuffle tasks arround how you need it, way more efficient 10. take your time dont rush the game, lost many games because I rush them :)

Tips for Chillton's Overseer/Mayor/Hero/Boss: -In the gear/cog icon there is a priority button, it looks like an arrow. If you click with priority selected, the Chillers are more likely to do that task first. -A gather's hut is excellent for getting food early on. -You need animals before the Chillers can work at your pasture. You get animals by trading, which you need a trading post for. -You will want a hospital before your people get sick and die of Dysentery (or some other ailment). -Families live in houses, and families can grow to be up to five people. At the age of 10, children can move into a new house and start having their own children. If you find your houses have people older than 10, build some houses. -Keep an eye on your resources. If you run out of food or firewood, your people will die. If you lack iron, wood, or stone, they won't build anything. Just keep wrecking the environment and you'll be grand, at least for now! So excited to see you playing this game! I love your videos so much and Banished one of my favorite games!

Some basic tips: Make sure there are houses close to where people work, they actually have to walk to work every day Roads are very important and easy to make Go slow with placing houses its very easy to get over populated A trading post is the only place to get more seeds for growing Build a fairly large sized orchard early on, its low maintenance but takes several seasons to grow Do not place too many fishing huts in a small area, you can over fish and there wont be any left If you plant more than one farm, try to plant different stuff. Sometimes crops get hit by disease and die Animals pens are an easy way for food long term, but the only way to get animals for the pasture is by trading If and wanderers ever show up be careful, they can be carrying disease that will destroy your population FAST ****The reason the pasture isnt working is because you dont have any animals ***Tools are made at a black smith with iron and wood and if you dont have tools work speed cuts in half for everything This game is insanely fun and I hope you do more but remember to take it slow :D

Jack thank you so much for playing this game, its one of my personal favorites!! But here are some tips to playing better! - The reason why your men arent working the pasture is because you dont have any animal, to get animals you need to buy them from the annual trader after building the trading post, but pastures are more of a latter game trait because animals are expensive - Markets are useful, but overkill for a small town. they are easier to use with a population of 50-100+... the purpose of markets is to have a bunch of people deliver resources to people's houses so the people in those houses don't have to step away from their job to do it themselves - What I call the "Wilderness facilities" are Forestry lodge, gatherers hut, hunters cabin, and herbalist.. these 4 should be placed in a small square like area with trees filling up each of the facilities' radius, placing them close together will waste less forest space and maximize production - Always keep production limits raised, especially for the woodcutter because when winter comes around there will be a dramatic increase in firewood usage and will drain you out in a snap - BUILD A SCHOOL HOUSE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: Sending kids to school will make them laborers at a later age, but they will know how to do things better and production rates will increase a ton!!! - One of the most important things is to watch out and prepare for baby boomers, if you notice a huge incline in population in a short period of time, then it will soon come back to bite you in the butt because those people will eventually die off with important jobs and there wont be enough people to fill in for them - Not too soon, but around at least 100 people have a Town Hall, it provides useful statistics that will help maintain the chillness of your town Overall you did a damn good job at starting out your village, and I hope these few tips will help you out in the long run... I have no idea if this will get to the top so please help me out get this to Jack's view!!!

Banished is difficult, a reliable source of food is pastures and farms, but you need seeds and livestock, to get these, if you don't start out with them you must build a trading post at the river. Also a blacksmith is essential as tools will eventually wear out and resource gathering will slow to a crawl. Building a school is also a good idea as uneducated citizens are only half as efficient at what they do. If you cannot procure seeds and livestock then your options are fishing, hunting and foraging; foraging requires a decent forest area.

Tips for Banished: 1. Build at least one house a year. Families will move to whichever house is closest to where they Work and vice versa. It will help ensure efficiency as your town gets bigger. 2. your people's health will fall fast without a balanced diet. They need meat, veg/fruit, and starch/grain. fishing will be your easy in early on, get herd animals later that will help support an even larger population. 3. Farms are your friends. Make many. A pattern I use is to make 1 large farm right in front of the storage barn and encircle it in homes. when you start a new section, plonk down a new storage barn, stockpile, and build another farm and get it producing before building houses. 4. YOU WILL NEED IRON. BUILD A MINE WHEN POSSIBLE. 5. Educated workers work faster and more efficiently, build a school when you can. 6. Build a small cemetery early on, it stops your people from getting sad when someone dies. sad people don't work as hard. It costs a lot of stone, but not as much as a church, which is one of the ways to recover happiness once it's gone down. 7. Resource limits can be found under the settings menu, it's a way to prevent over harvesting and to divert workers to other stuff when you have 'enough' of something. THIS DOES NOT ADJUST AUTOMATICALLY. You will need to raise the limits as your population grows to ensure you stockpile enough for everyone to survive. Good luck Jack!

From what I've seen in this game (I've played about 100 hours) You need to be careful with your resources. You need to build hunter cabins in the forests, not in the open field and not near mountains or water. Fishing docks (or what ever they were called) only next to water that is going down stream, basically: dock -> -> -> -> water if its going up stream it will work, but not so well. You need to make a lot of coats further in the game, which is made from leather, and that is gained from hunter cabins. The coats are what people wear so they don't freeze in the winter. I never grew animals, but I think its just another way of producing food, but that does use other materials I'm pretty sure. Iron and coal can be found in mines, but stone in quarries, atleast I think thats how it was. It should say that when you mouse over them. I hope this is really useful. I just want You to have fun in the game.

Honestly, my advice is mainly to start over lol. Im not being mean but you rushed this quite a bit. I'll give you a few tips to keep you alive a bit longer, but your ganna have to do some damage control. 1. Get a school, the more educated, the more productivity 2. Dont build too many houses early on, those make babbies and that increases population wich leads to food and clothing problems. 3. There is a button to increase productivity rate in areas, it is an arrow shape and where the jobs assignments are. 4. Get a wood cutter, that will encourage people to get firewood to stay warm during winter, otherwise most wont think twice about it. 5. Move around the hunters cabin. Dear spawn in decent groups, so move the cabin around a bit to make sure they are within hunting rage. Not to mention they move. 6. Hire AT LEAST 2 - 3 farmers. Have at least one feild and one orchard (farmers manage both). Thats all i got for now, have fun!

jack some tips! you need to build a blacksmith hause to make tools or they wont be able to do anything. and you really need a farm, with it you will get a lot more food. and last one i know you need trading place and wait for people to come and buy from them animals and then put them in the animal place(sry dont remeber how its called)! hope these will help!

Your herdsmen have no animals, you get them through traders. Fields are great because farming mass amounts of food through spring to autumn builds an abundance over winter. I'm not sure about orchids, as mine barely get to 20% growth and screw me over. Also depending on field sizes, it is better to start harvesting mid/late summer otherwise they die due to it snowing early in autumn without warning, or they can't harvest all the crops before early winter. There is also an event log you can use to see events, such as births or deaths, warning on resources ect. You can get tools from blacksmiths. Hope this helps a bit, Jack!

Jack! Stockpiles can only store raw resources (wood logs, iron and stone) & are best placed next to places that make stuff, like the woodcutter and blacksmith. Barns are for everything else (food, clothes, tools, etc.) Make sure there are enough houses for people to move out and start making babs. If in doubt, check the Banished Wiki! I have played this game for a little while, not sure of updates but, o recommend you try and start off with flat land next to water, you will also need them to be happy becuase the happier they are the quicker they do things, you will need a lot of storage space and also a black smith so it's much much quicker to build and get recources, you will also need a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot of food! That's why you live near water so you can fish! There will also be winter so that means if you don't have warm houses or clothes your peaple will freeze to death, and you'll also need a hospital or a sickbay because in the harder modes they can get sick or hurt. They can also have children and get married and stuff, stone houses are a lot warmer then stone houses so when winter comes you'll definitely need those. You can also make a brewery for alcohol! When they drink it makes there happens go higher. Well I guess that's the basics. Shaun you can't do anything with the pasture yet because you don't have any animals, you get them through training, you do, however, have seeds so you can make some big crop fields. Also, you can move around the little windows wherever you want

Hello Jack! Hopefully these tips help you as I have been playing for a while now! Please upvote this so he sees it! Thanks! - At the start of the game, it says you have 5 families. So, building 5 houses (or 6 if you want population growth early), works well. One female and one male, about ages 10 or older will get together in a new house and make their own family automatically, as long as a free house in available. -Click on the gear icon, then the arrow pointed upwards (without the horizontal line) and highlight something you'd like to get rushed and it will increase priority of that queued action. Be careful though, because if you don't have enough resources or people to do that job, it will be skipped and will only be tackled when the resources become available. -You can speed up time. I like 5X speed. You can also pause time with the spacebar. I like to pause the game and setup where I want all my basic buildings before I let the villagers loose to start the queue. -If you want to save space for a certain building, but don't have the resources currently, you can place the building, then click on the area the building will occupy. On the window that pops up, you'll see a yellow pause button. That will prevent that building from being put into queue to be done. Helps make plans in the early game so you don't accidentally build on a spot you had plans to put something else on. Unpause for it to be queued. -At the start of the game, you do NOT have animals to put into the pastures. You DO however have seeds for crop fields and orchards. You get livestock through the "Trading Post" (see below). -Build a "Trading Post" along a river. HAS to be a river, or a pond/lake with a river running in and out of it, in order to trade with a trader that comes by every so often. The trader brings seeds, animals and resources to your village in an attempt to bargain with you. You need to have surplus items to trade, so I recommend increasing the maximum gather amounts. The Gear Icon -> arrow with the horizontal line shows the current maximum amounts and you can adjust them there. Make sure you have a "Trader" and that you set the amount of surplus you want the trader to hold so you have stuff to trade. - This is something I have had some success with. Find a large patch of forest away from your village a bit and build a hunter's cabin, gatherer's hut, herbalist, forester's lodge, a storage barn and stock pile etc... in that cluster of forest, and don't build anything else inside the active radius (the yellow ring when you click or place a building). Deer, for example, don't go into the village very often, so having your hunter's cabin there is useless. Same with the Forester's lodge, when the point of the forester is to cut and plant trees in a sustainable manner. There's not much room in your village to grow and plant trees effectively. -Putting in 3 crop fields, sizes 10X10 or so at the start of the game is good. You'll get a great food growth so you don't run low. -You want a variety of food sources. In the general stats window, your villager's health is represented by the hearts. Having a wide variety of food and medicinal herbs helps keep your villagers healthy early on. Having a hospital also helps later in the game. -The villager happiness is also represented by the stars in the general stats window. Good tip, build an orchard early. Once the orchard starts producing something (usually 4 or 5 years later), build a brewer/tavern ( I forget the exact name right now) and you can use the items from the orchard to make beer/alcohol to make your villagers happy, if you find it hard to keep them happy. I usually don't have an issue with happiness early, but you might. That's all for now and will help get you started.
