** TIPS INCOMING ** You are Safe: On the ground floor, lower ground floor, in the elevator, and in the stairwell. Also, as long as you don't run face first in to Jimmy, he won't whack you. Every time you use the scry mirror anywhere BUT the kitchen on the ground floor, you summon Jimmy to your floor. If you have a deadbolt key to a room, you can summon Jimmy to that room, hide in the wardrobe/closet, and, if he hides in the bathroom, you can run out the front door, turn around, and lock him in that room temporarily. (Very handy for doing things on the top floor). When the lights flicker, that is telling you there is ghost activity for you to witness. Good luck and enjoy! Game tips for Jack: - Call Jimmy when you’re in a room to lure him to the other side, if you get stuck. - If you have deadlock keys to a specific room you’re in, you’re going to need them to lock Jimmy inside the room you’re in. If he tries to come in the room, wait a couple seconds so he can see you and hide in the closet. If you do this correctly, he’ll be hiding in the bathroom. QUICKLY run to the door and get out of the room. Use the deadlock keys to lock him in the room which should buy you some time. - Sound is key to figuring out where Jimmy is on the floor you’re on. - You can hide in the closet if Jimmy tries to come into the room but be quick about it, unless you want to lock him in a room. (Edited) - Jimmy will sometimes crouch when he’s at the peephole so be careful when leaving rooms. - He takes your keys sometimes when he jumpscares you. Make sure you get your keys back. They’re scattered around the rooms. (Edited) - If you’re in a bright room, the best place to hide is in the closet. If you’re in a dark room, you should hide in the bathroom. If you hide in the bathroom in a bright room, chances are that Jimmy will know you’re there. (Added) - Search all the rooms for items, even if there’s nothing you need for the story in those specific rooms. It makes it a lot easier so that you don’t have to go back and forth. Sometimes, even if you think Jimmy sees you hide in the closet, he doesn't always go to the bathroom. Exit the closet and stand there a second to see if you can hear Jimmy outside the room or not. If you don't, he's more than likely hiding in the bathroom.

An easy way to explain how Jimmy works is to think of it as a game board. Every time you move, you're moving onto the next game board title. Correct me if I'm wrong, but From what I've seen Jimmy only jump scares you if you look at the tile he's standing on. He can be right behind you, but he can't jump scare you unless you turn and look. That's also part of how you trap him in the room. You have to hide in the closet and hope and wait for jimmy to hide in the bathroom, in an attempt to surprise you. Go up to the door and leave but DO NOT turn to look at the bathroom! That will trigger jimmy because that's the game board tile he's standing on. I hope that helps!

Biggest tips I can give *!NO SPOILERS!* : 1. never scry on any floor other than the basement and ground floor: it brings Jimmy to your floor. I don't know how but whenever you scry he somehow finds his way to you 2. Whenever you die you lose your keys- don't panic, you can find them again. not sure where they go- people say they go to their original location, some say it’s randomized, and others are saying they go to the front desk. TLDR: the keys aren’t gone forever. 3. The menu button will go red if you are in danger: it keeps you from saving and generally means Jimmy is near enough to bop you on the head- take the hint and find somewhere to hide. like so jack can so or copy&paste so there’s better chance of him seeing it! PS: I’ve added some more tips in the comments that are more spoiler-like that people pointed out to me- if you’d like to know the more in-depth/technically spoiler tips then look in the comments!

@@gubbyrelle he technically wasn’t in danger because Jimmy wasn’t coming too him- it’s usually when you’re in a bedroom and you try to save while inside, which means Jimmy is either waiting outside/about to come in (meaning you’re trapped unless you wait him out) or, if you hid in the closet, he’s in the room, in which you’re dead unless you leave right away.

Tip: Don't use the scrying mirror at the hotel doors, just use it at the kitchen because it informs Jimmy where you are. That's why it's hard to outmanoeuvre him. Hope this helps. Edit: I removed "exactly" but yeah it's still the same, when you use the mirror it spawns Jimmy almost instantly to the floor where you are. I've read comments in Mark's gameplay, and this is more accurate I think. I believe it was also brought up at the tutorial.

That doesn't work. Jimmy really doesn't know where you are, unless he actually sees you. If he sees you, then it's really hard to shake him off. Also, some tricks don't work twice on Jimmy.

The only way to prevent him from spawning on the floor you're at, is when you don't break line of sight of the lift room. Also, Jimmy cannot spawn until you talk to Amy Bell. Tip with no spoilers: calling Jimmy while In a room at the doorway will make him come down that hallway, if you watch him pass the eyehole, wait a few seconds, and if you don't miss click, you can outrun him easily and go off down where he came from without him catching you and he will loose track of you. Also, if you dont hear footsteps all of a sudden, when it sounded like he was very close by, there is a high chance he may be hiding behind a corner, if you wait long enough, he will peak around the corner, so then you know he is there, and can run away. You can also see Jimmy through the peephole as he's opening the door. Extra tips ive missed and You have around 5 - 10 seconds to hide in the closet or bathroom. you can also hide in the closet and if you do, there is a high chance Jimmy will hide in the bathroom, in this case, run straight to the door and open It immediately. If you have the deadlock key, you can lock Jimmy in the room for a good while.

Tips! •Avoid hiding in dark rooms; Jimmy has a higher chance of finding you. •Calling to Jimmy can be useful if you know Jimmy is in the direction of where you need to go. You call from a room and unless he’s super close, he will walk past it. You can then leave immediately and go where you need to go. (Markiplier’s strategy) •Locking Jimmy in a room will trap him for about two minutes. You just call him, and wait to enter the wardrobe until you’re sure he can see you. Wait until he pretends to leave, then leave and deadlock the room. If you don’t have the deadlock key for that room, it won’t work. •Scrying will tell you either the location of the item you need to progress the story, or will show you the item you need to pair with a memory while speaking to a ghost. If you’re stuck on someone’s story, it will help a lot. Don’t be ashamed to use it every step of the way. Also, the compass will show you the direction of a ghost, since the scrying mirror will sometimes only tell you the floor a ghost is on. •Patience is key. Noise indicators are accurate and helpful. If you hear him and he sounds close, you might want to call him and manipulate his movements, otherwise he might get you around a corner if you try and leave. If he seems far, you’re probably safe to leave the room. •I could be wrong, but I believe that yellow in the bottom right indicates he is looking for you, and red indicates he is right behind you and you are in danger. •You lose all your keys (except the master key) when Jimmy gets you. Normally, it’s not a huge deal, unless you have stair keys and haven’t unlocked the stairs yet. He sometimes locks the stairways after he catches you, but not always, so try and quickly unlock stairs once you find the key. •The floors get smaller as you go up. First and second floors are said to have the most confusing layout, which can be troublesome while on the run from Jimmy and may mean you get lost and have to enter a room to hide from him. However, the third floor is very small, which means Jimmy can find you easily and you have to be very careful going around corners. •If you feel he might be near you or can hear him near you, wait for a second, his head or shadow might appear from around a corner. Again, he can’t attack from behind, so there is no risk involved with staying still. He will only attack as you turn a corner, while you’re hiding, or leaving a room. Here's a little tip for ya jack: Jimmy can jumpscare when you turn a certain point of where he is next to you. He can't attack you if you don't turn towards him. So if jimmy is behind you, DON'T TURN AROUND. This is useful when going to the elevator since he can't attack you inside the elevator. Tips for At Dead of Night (no spoilers)! - Sound is v important! The sound cues let you know when Jimmy is near (his voice or footsteps) or what he's doing (opening a door/closing a door/attempting to open a door). - Look for shadows! As you experienced, Jimmy will hide around corners! Look at the floor for a Jimmy looking shadow just in case you think he's behind a corner! - You WILL lose all your keys (and the spirit box) when you are bonked by Jimmy, so try not to get caught! - Try and only use the Scrying Mirror in the ground floor kitchen. If you use it in rooms, Jimmy's position is reset and he appears on the floor you are on. - Deadlock keys can be found in rooms! You can use them to lock yourself in (like you did), or to lock Jimmy in! Using the shout mechanic, you can lure him into a room and trap him for a bit. - You can also use the shout mechanic to lure him to a hallway/area and once he passes you can quickly go the opposite direction! - Jimmy can't hide anywhere on the LG, Ground, Stairs, or Elevator, so he can't get you when you are in these places (regarding the elevator/stairs, as long as you are undergoing the animation to "call the lift"/entering the stairway animation, you are ok but be quick!). - Unlike hiding in the bathroom, Jimmy can't bonk you while you are hiding in the closet, BUT he can try and trick you into leaving the closet while he's still in the room (most of the time it's the bathroom). He can pretend to leave the room, and actually hide in the bathroom. If you think that's the case, as long as you leave the closet and leave the room IMMEDIATELY, he won't be able to get you. - The menu icon in the lower right corner is normally white (this enables you to go back to the menu and save), BUT when it is RED Jimmy is nearby and on the hunt, so HIDE! - Jimmy can only get you when you are facing him, so if you see him, go the opposite direction and keep him behind you. - You can look through the peephole when you are inside a room, but you can look in the keyhole when you are outside a room too! - Check the peephole before you leave a room, cause Jimmy might be there! - Def watch the tutorial for more info! There are no spoilers and its very short and helpful!

Tips for playing this game: you can lock Jimmy in one the rooms if you have a deadlock key. For example: if you find a deadlock key of room 106, try to lure Jimmy in by calling his name. When Jimmy opens the door and enters the room (this is the key element because he needs to see you run into the closet), you have to hide in the closet. When you hear the first 'closing door' sound (when the menu bar is still red), escape the room as fast as you can, and use the deadlock key to lock him in. He won't be able to escape for a certain amount of time. Hope this will help you Jack!

I hope Jack reads the "Jimmy and DID" thing at the end of his playthrough---most if not all shows/games portraying Dissociative Identity Disorder use it so that the villain is half a serial-killing maniac and half not. Real people with DID aren't going to switch personalities and stab you in the throat, but that's what people are beginning to think DID is because of movies like Split. GL jack. this is gonna be fun to watch. here are some tips I found. You can press and hold D to temporarily listen closer to noises that aren't an ambient soundtrack. I usually do this as I'm leaving a room in case he's behind me. Reading other comments I've learned that he only spawns on the floor you are on when you're a certain way away from the elevator, as he can't spawn in when you're at the elevator. He can't go to the Ground Floor, Lower Ground (basement), and the stairs so you're safe there. also supposedly scrying mirror tells jimmy where you are faster!!! LIKE SO JACK CAN SEE!!!!

Seán, I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this, but the best tipp I can give you us Mark's method. If you know Jimmy is walking around nearby/on the same floor and you need to go into a certain direction but are hesitant because you don't know if Jimmy is around the next corner: Hide in a room and call Jimmy, immediately look through the spyhole to check which direction Jimmy passes by. If he went into a convenient direction you can run along, if not I'd suggest walking a bit further into the other direction that's clear (hide in another room there) and try the same thing again. Tho beware, he might not necessarily show himself quickly...or slowly. Depends on your luck. Also, listening to sounds seems to be quite important to know if he's nearby. Be that on the hallway or when looking through the spyhole. There will be cues when he's near (which I love, the sound design is great for this game). I DO think this game is quite lenient to the player and you have plenty of time to hide in the closet or bathroom. And while it might be mean...try the closet many times. It's...fun. For the watchers at least I'm sure. XD (I honestly want to see this from you. Mark's reaction was nice, but I'm excited to see what your reaction to the situation will be. Forgive me for that.)

Here's a little tip: When Jimmy comes into the room looking for you, and you're hiding in the closet or the bathroom, he can sometimes be right outside the room, waiting for you. Always check the peep hole before going outside the room
