Really like your videos , Salute From Montréal Canada Started with Nucleus Core and Composer Cloud ( mainly for the Choir to do some Dark Souls stuff) I would love to expand eventually for a more complex string library Would you pick CSS over Berlin Strings ( Complete Version ) ? I'm curious about your take on this Thanks a lot Christopher

Love Nucleus (both Lite and the Full). The bang you get for your buck I think is really great. Especially if you can get a sale. It’s also very resource efficient. I was able to get pretty far with Nucleus on my old 8GB i5 iMac. For an absolutely beginner I’d still recommend considering starting with BBCSO Discover since it’s free. You can make sure you actually enjoy this for no cost and you still get individual instrument patches that sound good enough.

Yeah, definitely.! But also nucleus has a different sound compared to BBCSO, which is more of a normal orchestra, while nucleus is better if you want to make epic music. So people need to listen to the demos and decide which one they like best.

For anyone looking for a fairly good free orchestral VST, the BBC Orchestra by Spitfire Audio is probably your best choice. It offers a full orchestra with a nice string section and fairly good woodwinds and brass. The less common instruments like marimba, harp and celeste are also relatively good. They also added a quite decent piano into the package recently, and even if it's certainly not fit for high-quality music production, it is great for experimentation early on without having to invest money.

I see you have Cinematic Studio in Kontakt. But CS on its website says they're not set up for that. So did you have any special setup to get CS into Kontakt??

For those of you who are students or teachers and can verify your educational status, Cinematic Studios offers a substantial discount, even on the first library purchased.

Good advice, although I have different libraries that it's almost realistic like this. But I'm sure that it will be cool even with different techniques.

As an all rounder bold sound I always come back to Nucleus. Something about the sound and it loads up so fast its easy to work with. For the legatos and the most realism its Cibematic Studio series for sure. That measured trem is a gem too.

Nous sommes très Debussy, aujourd'hui avec cette jolie harpe.. Merci Christopher 🙂 J'aime beaucoup Piano in Blue de Cinesamples. What would be different use cases for you between Industry Brass ans Cinebrass (core?) ?

I dislike Nucleus myself - way too harsh of a sound. Might be fine if you need that, but I prefer a more warm tone.
