Hej Christopher, an enjoyable, interesting and informative video. I have Kontakt 6 and am interested in purchasing Kontakt 7 which has been superseded by Kontakt 8 which I would purchase but unfortunately would not run on my system - do you know if it is possible to purchase Kontakt 7 somewhere? I have searched the internet but cannot dind a source for Kontakt 7 - any suggestion would be appreciated. Med Vännliga Helningar.

Functional rules make most of this music unmemorable. If you want to make a good orchestral track, just make a cool minimalist chiptune and then rework it into an orchestral one.

I have figured out two productivity hacks, that I have not seen on KZbin. A bit on the technical side. 1. In Bitwig (or another decent one), create an "instrument Layer". In that layer put all the instruments needed to be played at the same time, like a pad or tutti. Also add all the effects like reverb and so on. Then save it as a prefixed preset (preset can be CS). Super smooth to load next time. 2. In Bitwig (or another decent one), create an "instrument Selector". In that selector, put all the instruments that you want to audition for example, all the flutes you have. Then just switch between them to find the best flute. Then save it as a prefixed preset (preset can be CS). Super smooth to load next time.

My biggest issue with Dolce is it doesn’t have a “tight” playing option. When playing it from the midi keyboard, there appears to be at least a 200ms built in delay that just makes it unplayable for me.

the important thing is whether one has something to say or not, there are tons of film music that is copied, more copied, more copied, and more copied, etc. I suspect that a certain Stravinsky, Messiah or Schoemberg will be born in 30 years, cinema has already died, cinema is truly silent, and nobody notices.

Agreed! I've always mentioned (and made videos on) how important it is to have your own voice as a writer.

So great to see all your comparison and review videos. I wonder if you get spikes in views during these times of sales, haha. It should be said that there's a library just called China Ensemble, by NeoVST/SampleMagic, for about the same price level when on sale (otherwise supposedly $1k!). They look attractive on paper because only they have ensembles for ALL the instruments. I was disappointed by Jade and Phoenix mainly having ensembles for only the bowed strings. But I think we can tell from the audio levels that it may not be as good, but I can't find any full walkthroughs on KZbin or their site. I haven't looked on Chinese websites yet, though.

I don’t think it’s pronounced celli I think cellos is how you pronounce the name of the instruments that are playing in the countermelody you gotta love a good countermelody tuba. Still, there is no tuba. You know I wish there was a tuba. I think my wish might actually granted there is a tuba the third version to play with the strain double bases, which is nice really nice instrument sounds you know what in very good variation so three variance of the observatory with Rosalina the first cell phone cello Harp flute , and the vibraphone

What is the brass instrument playing the baseline? I think it’s a tuba yeah so it’s 123-121-2312 or one and two and three and one and 2 and 33123 is this tune is a very straightforward waltz in D major D major is similar to C major C major scale the Ionian mode so they use Ionian mode to use the scale so it’s just a normal major scale. There are some I think when you listen to the third version, the tuba is a little bit more stagnant playing an Oompa rhythm, so drums let’s see Ettle drums or Timpany and also a suspended symbol is doing rolls. You know I wish there was a Celester so if this song had like a Celesta that would be great there is a harp in this one and so there is a bassoon and French horn to fill out the mid range Out the counter Melody on earth is the flute playing countermelody not the cello seriously seriously dude I do the double bases and thetuba usually the tuba is playing the waltz rhythm. Love that rhythm. Gotta love that tuba so you know very love it. I love it. I love it , you gotta love agotta love a good

Impressive, but I don’t teach. Logic Chord Trigger can do some of this, but fewer scales. Plus I have Svaler 2. Just debating whether I need Chordwatch or not.

I recently bought spitfire chamber strings essentials during their sale. I'm a sucker for chamber strings and for the sale price of around 130 Euros, this was a no brainer. Yes, you don't get flautando, sul tasto and no slurred legatos. But I'm actually blown away by the sound and the easy way to use it. The two mic positions are more than enough to get your own, defined tone and - unlike many others - I appreciate the fact that it's run via kontakt or kontakt player. Extremely user friendly. To me, and even thought it's just essentials, this is spitfires best strings library.

Unfortunately this collection doesn't come with bass, piano and drums, but their demo song sounds SO good on the main page for this collection. Which piano/bass/drums have you found yourself gravitating toward when working with this collection within a full big band orchestra setting?

Hi Chris, first of all thanks for the opportunity to make something new out of your fantastic music. And thank you that you picked me for the 1st place. The honor for the sound of the Brass (Sax, Trumpet, Trombone) belongs to StraightAheadSamples with their unbeatable SmartDelay. I used "Tenor Colossus", "Birth of the Trumpet" and "Eminent Trombone".

I've come to really enjoy working with Musical Sampling's Adventure Brass. For my latest work, I've found myself reaching for it the most as opposed to my typical brass libraries. It's on the dry side, yet not in dire need of additional reverb.
