with a vastly shorter swing (obviously) you can do this with your putter too, just keep the face 90* to the path required, so i don't alter the path and can even stop and check it at the rear point of the backswing. i'm amazed how accurate it is, when i first tried it i single putted the first 2 holes, the second one from 20+ feet.

Slicing at the range today after a few weeks out and just couldn’t figure out why,I’ll be trying this in the week thanks as always 👍🏻
@jsusna19723 ай бұрын
I did this on the range today and the results were phenomenal. I didn't have to pull my right foot back very far at all. I may have been set up too open all along, so it feels pretty drastic at first, but after seeing the results, I'll keep doing it. If you think about it. the club is travelling in an arc around your body, so by pulling the right foot back slightly, what you're really doing is lining up your feet (as well as your shoulders and hips) along the arc, and not in a straight line. We tend to swing the club along our foot line, so this gets the club path more along the arc. I see so many videos tout this as a drill and not a permanent way of taking a stance. This is my new normal now.

David Leadbetter used to recommend this as an emergency on course slice fix. You’re basically aiming your feet right and hitting straight pulls. Now I am in my 70’s it’s no longer an emergency fix, I play like this permanently. It solves a lot of the hip/ knee/ flexibility issues inflicted by age.

I keep my trail foot back 2 inches on my iron shots as well and its amazing. But I also have a fast swing and, for reference, hit my PW consistently about 155. Not sure if that matters, but keeping my trail foot back helps me a lot for all clubs.

I’m playing tomorrow and will definitely try this. I tired this and it was a disaster. I couldn’t hit a straight shot to save my life. Everything went right. I went back to something you did awhile ago, tee up to the right and driver lined up near to toe; then I stated hitting the fairway. I guess you have to experiment to find out what works best for you. Keep those tips coming.

Do you have any videos of hitting the same club different distances? I’ve been golfing seriously for going on 3 years. I started as a 32 hcp and I’m now down to 20.8. Mainly I feel like I lose a lot of shots off the approach. Chipping is decent and very regularly 1 or 2 putt. The 1 putt double bogeys get old. 😂. My challenge is I’ve gotten good at consistently hitting 255-270 off the tee and It’s been putting me in Situations where I’m 120-135 out on the par 4s. Par 5s I just send my hybrid in and get it close. I struggle with my PW as when I hit the shot that goes I’m 140 or so and I cannot trust to get the spin. I rely on my 52 to get me 120-125. But I’d love to hit a knockdown shot in or flight one in. But it just turns into a top or a shank then next thing I know I’m lying 4 and I’m still 30 yds out.

This basically Hogans stance … I have a tough time hitting up on the ball with it off my heel . I tried your tweak … turned my Left a bit more open and my right a bit straighter. I still hit it low but it is straight and better smash factors. I need to keep my weight forward or it goes dead right no slice, I feel like it is easier to sway back with my foot behind me like this . I hit beautiful 2 yard draws with my 3 wood but cant hit a driver consistently , golf is hard sometimes.

Hi Alex ... love your videos, they've helped me take my game closer to breaking 90 from novice ... although I would love you to MERGE your skills and coaching with Golf Sidekick's strategy and approach ... PLEASE can you put together a beginner guide for those new to the game regarding strategy and basic club use?? Many novices are embarrassed to continue the game given the ego involved with other player's and their expectations. It must be hard to visualise even basic shots for beginners as you play the game so well ... maybe show us a CHEAT CODE for beginners to get under 10 or 11 shots per hole? ... might sound silly but it could become your most watched video helping so many novices ... Maybe a half swing half hit driver, followed by a couple bump and run hybrids, then a couple punch short irons, then a couple back foot chip shots, finished off with a realistic 3 putt? Keep up the outstanding coaching ❤

@maeu592 ай бұрын
In stage 2 you move ball the back, stage 3 you pull your right foot back which changes the arc direction and actually would move the ball position forward, unless you keep the shoulders square to the original target. You mention nothing about the shoulders, can you clarify?

One thing I have learned is there is no 100% controlling your shot. 99% yes. 100% no. There will always be a little bit of randomness in golf. Chaos theory. It’s what makes the game so interesting. Just swing easy, keep the body and balance under control, and you’ll hit a decent shot.
