Entire episode playlists available on my youtube channel page!
Science fiction/Action adventure/Space. Created by Gene Roddenberry. Starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley (Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy) - Norway Productions and Desilu Productions produced the series from September 1966 to December 1967. Paramount Television produced the show from January 1968 to June 1969. Star Trek aired on NBC from September 8, 1966, to June 3, 1969. It was first broadcast on September 6, 1966, on Canada's CTV network. Star Trek's Nielsen ratings while on NBC were low, and the network cancelled it after three seasons and 79 episodes. Several years later, the series became a hit in broadcast syndication, remaining so throughout the 1970s, achieving cult classic status and a developing influence on popular culture. Star Trek eventually spawned a franchise, consisting of eight television series, 13 feature films, and numerous books, games, and toys, and is now widely considered one of the most popular and influential television series of all time.
All rights go to Gene Roddenberry, I’m available and open to say that there was no copyright infringement intended. This is for ‪@StarTrekTOS‬ where I found a place to post the BEST of the BEST clips from The Original Series! Trekkies of all callings are welcome :)

She almost quit after the first season until Martin Luther King contacted her and told her to please stay on, she was the first black woman in a TV show who wasn't a servant, prostitute, or negative stereotype, she was a positive role model for black girls and so she stayed on.

I agree. I was too young to even be remotely interested in things like that when this was first played in the 60s. I saw the reruns in my teens, and realized she was H O T. So was Barbara Eden, from Jeannie. Elizabeth Montgomery looked too much like my mom for me to even THINK of taking an interest with her. Of course, there was the old reruns of The Avengers….

Actually, there's the fact that she fights left-handed, which is cool, but, neither Nichols, nor Uhura, has practiced sheathing that stiletto much, and she had to look down to do it; should have been noticed by the A.U. Crew...Uhura should have stepped up, and safely outside the railing, before bothering... Although, I agree, she looks PDH!...and a special 'Well Done' to the costumer who tuned that sash to perfection! 😊

Strong hard abs, clear ab lines, but I still have squishy fat over them because I haven't been hitting cardio and dieting like I should. I think both girls that is played Uhura part. Have done great!. You have to keep in mind. That one in the movie Star Trek is a different timeline . The one in S.N.W . Is also equally as great she sings great. Maybe they should have a dance off? Remember the movie where Uhura was dancing on the sand dune with the palm leaves ,Singing or Humming.😊 That would make a good short Star Trek. Zoe in the movies is very good. Is the hairstyle.

Nichelle Nichols was a bombshell! As a kid watching the show in the 70's she was one of my heros. I knew girls could save the universe too. One of these kids was not like the others. In a nearly all male cast she was woman, woman woman, woman, wow! Truly one of the natural beauty queens of 60's and 70's. Even us kids at 6 years old knew that she was certainly not a boy, lol. William Shatner and Leanord Nemoy simply did not have those curves, lol, lol, lol. WOW, what a beautiful woman. Certainly as talented as her peers as well.

For those who aren’t getting it: She’s not just walking a few steps. She’s walking without looking where she’s going. On a tv/film set, actors often have to walk along a specific path, sometimes with marks on the floor. Scenes are often meticulously planned in terms of where everyone needs to be, because all the cameras, lights, actors, etc are set up so the director can get exactly the shots they want. Especially on a small tv set, you have to be careful not to walk anywhere that might cause a camera to show things it shouldn’t, or film you in weird angles. The clip isn’t suggesting this was epic. It’s more like an example of how actors, can reach a point where the technical stuff becomes 2nd nature, and they can focus almost entirely on the performance.

Heh heh..I'm sure that was because it was probably cumbersome to find the sheath so a dramatic pause to get it right was needed.

Lawd, that walk to the elevator was almost too much for a 13 yr old boy in Chicago back in the 1960s. It was definitely the topic of conversation in school the next day. Every guy in the 7th grade was ready to marry Uhura.

@@LT1HILLINGHOE Huh??? Bots just have to be bots don’t they? For your information, YE OF THE FAULTY MEMORY, the episode aired: October 6, 1966-which was a THURSDAY evening. Next time check your facts before you try to put someone down in order to prove your superiority. Also, as I said, I was 13 when this aired. Do you actually believe that any one over age 55 is automatically senile? That makes you an “ageist,” which in turn makes you a BIGOT.

She probably just used her peripheral vision to move around the set. None of the cast are gonna intentionally get in her way to mess up the scene. For those who don’t know. How periphery works is that your field of vision is wider than the direction your head is facing. Some people can process that entire field without looking directly at the things they notice. Or in other words: She sees things out of the corner of your eye without looking right at it. Backwards up stairs is difficult but you see her use the handrail to keep her balance. It’s subtle… your eyes are constantly moving so it’s tricky to look transfixed at one thing but it’s totally possible.

My folks had a fit, when they learned that, I had a crush on Lt. Uhura. I grew up watching the original series of Star Trek. They brought a lot of pretty women on that show. But, Uhura was the most captivating. Beautiful, badass, never flashy, meaning: I've never seen her dress, or act like a floozy. She had a lot of class. And, never a word of profanity or male bashing.
