Hey Brenda. Thanks for the comment. That’s a very important question and I always get conflicted on “do I learn new skills” or “continue to do what I’m good at (which is marketing, branding, user acquisition, talking to the users, increasing revenue for the company so I can pay expenses and salaries etc) I guess the way I “update my skills” is basically by always doing these things everyday and ensuring that I’m aware of new trends, tools or strategies that makes doing those tasks much better and more effective. Let’s take user acquisition as an example. Every single second of the day (seriously) I am always thinking, brainstorming of new ways to acquire the highest quality (and qualified) users for the startup and because this is top of mind for me on a daily basis - I am always trying new ideas, new channels, new angles etc to achieve that task. For example, the funnels I use to acquire users today is far way more effective than the methods I was using 1 year ago. So, In a nutshell - I update my skills in all my roles by doing them daily, staying updated / aware of trends and updates within the space and testing on the job. Not sure if I answered the question correctly, hopefully it makes sense.

Hey Callow, thanks for the comment. So, in my personal experience - what I do is that I always have a side hustle that allows me to be able to run my startup and pay employees and expenses even when the startup isn't earning enough to cover those bills. For example, before the startup started making any money - I was paying for everything from my "side hustle" for a very long time. Sometimes I also use the current users to raise money (e.g one time we offered lifetime deal to users and this was a way to raise some money to keep the startup afloat for a longer time) Startups can be hard and it is a constant work trying to break even, get profitable and scale up but if you do your research very well before hand and your product delivers on strong pain points - you will get profitable very soon. Hope this helps.

Honestly, for mock-ups I use photoshop and I simply just google “ device PSD mock-up”, so for example, for the phone mockups, I just google “iPhone psd mock-up” Maybe there are simpler ways but this is what I use. Hey Amigo! Thanks for the question. So, the programming is done by my “team”. I put it in quotes because when I was about to hire developers for this startup at the beginning, I knew I would have to give them a full time role in my startup, so that it’s more like a “team” rather than “freelancers doing outsourced work” That being said - due to the complexity of my space, we sometimes have to hire someone who’s skilled in a particular architecture we are trying to implement on a contract basis. (E.g when we wanted to integrate some AWS services and databases, my main dev wasn’t skilled in them, so I hired someone to join the team for the duration of time needed to implement it and then my dev team takes it from there) So, my advice would be to hire a full time dev because running a startup is a daily task, you need people or someone who’s on the team and works on it daily because outsourced freelancers will not take the project as serious as they should because they have other clients. (It’s not their fault) I’ll be creating videos touching on so many topics and questions I’ve been asked in the comments just like yours! So, because I go to the gym very early (6:30am), I’m able to see how the weather is like for the day, so if it’s raining or snowing or extremely windy, I just work from my home office. Perfect example is today, I was coming back home from the gym and noticed rain drizzling, so I knew I would be working from home today and I also checked weather forecast, it showed it would rain all day! But GUESS WHAT??? It didn’t rain and the drizzle I felt in the morning didn’t last more than few minutes 😂 so I basically worked from home today based on false information. So, that’s how it goes sometimes 🙏
