@@voiceofvegans Sorry sir, Vegetarian for 15 years since i dont want to kill them.Came to know the vegan concept and about dairy industry real recently, through you , animal activist aravind and saivignesh2000.i am coffee lover.really hard for me to quit that alone..in the progress of that.but quit all other products like curd,paneer,egg..But vegetarian for 15 years ,not a vegan.but now became a 99 percent vegan.in the progress of talking alternatives to coffee.soon will be a 100 percent vegan...Keep inspiring us..If any help , I will support you..Lots of respect and love from Tamilnadu

I agree with the fact that we need to assign the right Value to the word 'Vegan'. People here seem to think of it as a thing from the west. We definitely need to change that. I think we need to position veganism synonymous to 'Non violence' and connect it to our culture which is of 'Ahimsa Parmo Dharmaha'.

Yes it is very clear… should be in the name! Vegan dukan sounds good. 👍 I once overheard someone say that only meat comes from animals and then someone reminded that even dairy and it clicked to them only after that.

Its great job, you are doing there, i am also a vegan. I must say its the tough job, you are doing. In India, we can make shift from vegetarian to vegan, which looks like small shift. But In western country, i believe they can move much fast. Especially with many variety of vegan stuff & market for vegans. I have more point to make, the real shift to 'Ahimsa Parmo Dharmaha' happened with Buddhism & Jainism & spreading the influence during Mauryan period, where even animal hospital were built. Unfortunately, after fall of Mauryan empire, by assassination of Brighdatta by Someone to establish Shunga dynasty, where traditional practices were re-introduced like animal ritualistic killing & even some form of meat eating also. However, it was not regular day-in & day-out kind of meat eating, but it was there.

Why not use ahimsa as the Indian word for vegan food We are eating ahimsa foods I wear ahimsa clothes I am an ahimsat

Conceptually it is Ahimsa...any word is fine as long as the core message is understood :)

@uog293 i agree… i stick to vegan and ahimsa coz of their widespread adoption in different population set. - Vegan has a huge digital asset value. And now fssai also recognised it. Ahimsa is easy to recognise with Indians especially followers of Sanatan dharma. - Branding is more about why. Touch the chords of compassion 💚💚💚💚💚
