Hetal thank you for this very important work, please come up with a much needed product for cats, for years I have been feeding a well balanced vegan cat food and adding fresh veg and fruit but very much like the idea of preparing my own cat food and adding your product, thank you for everything you are doing !

Speciesism within the veterinary community is particularly troubling because veterinarians take an oath to protect all animals from harm and suffering. It rears its ugly head each time flesh-based pet food is recommended to a client, or a veterinarian dines on the flesh of a once-living animal

Very insightful video. Thank you for having this conversation, Shivam. I'd recommend folks reading this, to try 'Freshwoof', a first Indian plant-based food commercially available for dogs. Their food is free from all artificial ingredients. Two of my old dogs have thrived on this food and they also absolutely love it. Please check them out. For street dogs: please check out Doggy ji, It's an initiative born out of love for streeties. They have biscuits alternative for Parle-G, And they cost Rs. 10!! It's a much better option for people who want to feed a hungry animal and cannot afford to cook/buy plant-based foods. For cats: Unfortunately, there's no plant-based food available in the market that's viable for their health. Hope this helps for the readers. Keep doing the amazing activism!

The British Veterinary Association has changed their policy and now supports plantbased diets for dogs. The Indian Veterinary Association has been asked when they will change their policy to support plantbased diets for dogs in line with the current scientific research

Do cats need to eat meat? No. Cats (or dogs, or people) don’t need any particular ingredient. They all need specific nutrients. People often forget these are not the same thing. Vegan and other alternatives diets aim to supply all necessary nutrients, from plant, yeast, mineral or synthetic sources. The largest scientific study published so far examining the health of vegan cats studied > 1,000 cats. Cats on nutritionally sound vegan diets were more likely to be rated as very healthy, and less likely to suffer body weight, gastrointestinal or liver problems, than those on meat diets. (Dodd, S.A.S., Dewey, C., Khosa, D. et al., 2021)

Animalsonlywantkindness,excellent comment, from personal experience and years of feeding cats (and dogs) well balnced vegan food I can say without a doubt vegan food is far superior to foods filled with death,violence and disease. It is all about the nutrients not the ingredients. Excellent comment, keep on EDUCATING !!

New research: Vegan dog food is consistently associated with lowered risks of certain health disorders. Six specific disorders had 50 %-61 % lower odds among vegans vs. conventional meat. (Andrew Knight, Alexander Bauer, Hazel J. Brown, 2024, Vegan versus meat-based dog food: Guardian-reported health outcomes in 2,536 dogs, after controlling for canine demographic factors)

Survey of 1,189 North American dog guardians, Dodd et al. (2022) collected dietary information from 1,189 dog guardians, including 357 feeding solely vegan diets, who fed these diets for 3 years on average. Vegan dogs were reportedly more likely to enjoy very good health, and less likely to suffer ocular, gastrointestinal and hepatic (liver) disorders. No health disorders were more likely, and longevity of 1,052 previously-owned dogs was reportedly 1.5 years greater, when fed purely vegan diets

Excellent video ! If you are an ethical vegan and you are feeding your cat or dog non vegan companion animal food please give some serious thought to what you are supporting and the health issues you are causing by feeding death and other filthy ingredients to your companions. Why would you continue doing that when the studies are clearly showing that dogs and cats live longer healthier lives when fed vegan food. Speaking from years of personal experience !
