18:30 Why Are Startups Important?
FOR SEO
Business
startup is not a new word for us we know start-ups like esewa foodmadu
f1 soft khalti hamro patro
and more they are well known startup company's in nepal
but are they enough for developing countery like us
why startup fail in nepal
Startups fail in Nepal for various reasons, including:
Lack of funding: As mentioned earlier, access to capital is one of the biggest challenges faced by startups in Nepal. Many startups fail because they are unable to secure adequate funding to sustain their operations and scale their business.
Limited market size: Nepal is a relatively small market in comparison to other countries, which can make it difficult for startups to achieve economies of scale and profitability. Many startups fail because they are unable to generate enough revenue to sustain their business.
Lack of skilled human resources: As mentioned earlier, Nepal has a relatively small talent pool, which can make it difficult for startups to find and retain skilled human resources. Many startups fail because they are unable to attract and retain the talent they need to grow their business.
Regulatory hurdles: Complex licensing procedures, bureaucratic red tape, and a lack of clear guidelines can also hinder the growth of startups in Nepal. Many startups fail because they are unable to navigate the regulatory landscape and comply with the relevant laws and regulations.
Lack of infrastructure: Nepal also faces infrastructure challenges, such as a lack of reliable electricity and internet connectivity, which can make it difficult for startups to operate efficiently and effectively.
To increase the chances of success, startups in Nepal need to focus on building a strong business model, securing adequate funding, hiring and retaining skilled talent, navigating the regulatory landscape, and leveraging technology to increase efficiency. Additionally, the government and other stakeholders need to provide more support and incentives for startups, such as tax breaks, funding, and streamlined regulatory procedures.
why startup is important for nepal
Startups are important for Nepal for several reasons, including:
Economic growth: Startups can contribute to the economic growth of Nepal by creating jobs, generating revenue, and driving innovation. They can also promote entrepreneurship and encourage more people to start their own businesses.
Innovation: Startups can bring new and innovative ideas to the market, which can help to develop new industries and improve existing ones. They can also solve problems and address unmet needs in the market.
International recognition: Successful startups can put Nepal on the map and attract international attention and investment. This can help to position Nepal as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
Social impact: Startups can also have a positive social impact by addressing social and environmental issues in Nepal. For example, startups can develop solutions to improve access to healthcare, education, and clean energy.
Diversification: Startups can help to diversify Nepal's economy by promoting the development of new industries and sectors beyond traditional ones such as agriculture and tourism.
Overall, startups can play a significant role in Nepal's economic and social development by creating jobs, driving innovation, and promoting entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is important for the government and other stakeholders to provide more support and incentives for startups, such as funding, mentorship, and streamlined regulatory procedures.

I have also been rejected for an F1 visa for my bachelor's 3 years ago and so I started my own business (makes 18lakhs per month right now) Now I am helping my abroad friends by funding an AI-based Startup. Thanks to my Dad. My dad is not a businessman but an average Farmer. My Relatives helped me a lot during my starting point while raising funds for sales and distribution. ( Initial investment for my business was 78 lakhs and until now I have invested over 2.5 cores) Note: life is beautiful and always gives you something and now I am preparing to apply for a master's in 2024 again. Always take Risk ( you may think life is over and you made mistake but that's not true god is always with you)

The number one cause of not getting investment through domestic or international stakeholders is an UNSTABLE GOVERNMENT. Even IMF usually has a clause of a consistent governmental rule over a period of time, even if interim, for them to disburse any loan to struggling countries. No matter how good your product, your market fit, product awareness is, nothing will help if your customers don't have means to purchase your product. I tried in 2021. I have a huge inventory still remaining but the economy in Nepal has been so unstable that any forecast or pivot won't be successful unless you are willing to incur huge cost - which leads us back to problem number 1. It was a great video. I totally agree that hamro pani dawitwo ho, tara hamro customers jastai hami pani tei economy ma operate grchau, jasko dherai parts haru hamro control ma chainan. So don't beat yourself up if you quit and pursue something outside of Nepal, the playing field is just too hard. I hope it changes one day.

Liked the way you researched and presented and kudos on "founder" and "nepal government and startup" section. I kinda worked on 2 of the startups mentioned in the video as software engineer. Well start-ups is all about "finding the need and filling it" and most of the startups cater to it but i kinda believe one of the reason why start-up fails in Nepal fails is our customer base. We being a small country with moderate digital access just has to focus on city areas and with startup lifecycle most of the company will start running out of investments before their prime. Just my thought but i kinda believe there has to be a govt backed culture to support start-ups as Angel Investors and VCs are still not prevalent in our country till date.
