So does #1 refer to needing constant funding because your not profitable to survive or needing it to start?

You'll need constant funding if you want to become a unicorn, but you won't get funding without profitability. A lot of businesses are not profitable for a long time, if at all. But startups need to have a path to profitability eventually or will be considered failures.

@@edkang99 thank you for clarifying that. Because my company needs funding in the beginning to have users and since I haven’t had much luck with VCs, I will probably start focusing on Angels and start small.
