The interesting about Luke is his view of the Star Wars universe is casual's view of it. He doesn't know anything about the Jedi before his time, he doesn't know much about the Sith, he doesn't know the galaxy at large. If you were to ask Luke about Darth Bane or the Brotherhood of Darkness he'd look at you funny. If creates a cool contrast between the character's knowledge and the viewer.

I realize I’m late but I hope somebody’s got an answer (lol) Is there a reason that with all this time on his hands, Luke doesn’t just…go back to Dagobah?

A great part of the reason for Luke wanting to become a jedi was because of being inspired about his father Anakin from Obi-Wan and wanting to become just like the image of his father that he was given. After Vader's shocking revelation, his whole worldview was practically shattered causing him to question everything, especially that even if Obi-Wan and Yoda had aimed for the greater good, they had still lied to him and attempted to use him to kill his father. So, his trust in them was obviously shaken. That's why instead of returning to Dagobah, he decided to explore and study the Jedi from his own point of view, what it means to be one, and if he truly wanted to become a Jedi instead of simply following his father's footsteps.

Hopefully Luke can just get to training with the skills he already learned from Yoda. From ep.5 to ep.6 he doesn’t really learn anything new. He just needs to make a new lightsaber and get better at what he already knows.

I don't understand why Luke didn't just go back to dagobah after Darth Vader Bested him. I get it doesn't make Great storytelling, but it's not like Yoda "Ghosted" Luke , right? He could have gone back and said, " Hey Yoda, remember when you said I wasn't ready", well your gonna laugh...
