Yes, Hamill always strikes me as a major movie and pop culture geek. I bet he studied Errol Flynn etc. Of course, Bob Anderson stood in for David Prowse in the duel, and I suppose choreography is all about playing to the actor's strengths to make them look as good as possible, but I agree when you watch Hamill practising, he is so focused - that was all his hard work, not editing or trickery.
@Ruylopez7783 жыл бұрын
@keep your stupid comments in your pocket I haven't heard that but it makes a lot of sense, just by how much effort the actors put into the training, and of course Ray already having experience. I imagine it's like a dance partner; if you have one expert, then the novice (Ewan) can extend themselves beyond what would normally be possible for a novice. For me, I just feel like the PT fights are where the technology allowed them to reach their limit, and the OT fights, Lucas told Luke to think of the lightsaber like a heavy sword because of the limitations of the technology. So a technical limitation became an aesthetic choice, if you see what I mean. But I enjoy all the fights from 1-6 equally.

Loved how casually Roger named dropped some of the most iconic movies and creators of all time, and for shining a light on some of the names who don't get enough recognition, and just so happened to have one of the original lightsaber props in his office. Looking forward to future interviews and hopefully the return of Roger and his documentary! Stories from behind the scenes like these are more exciting than the sequels for me. Great points about Watto, as well, and Jar Jar as Buster Keaton. He also confirmed what JW Rinzler has said, that SW had many layers to it below the 'simple' story, which was thrilling to hear! Tired of people dismissing Lucas' movies as 'simple'.

Great interview and amazing cameo by an original lightsaber. Remember, everyone, the OT made it clear that the Force is passed down through genetics. "My father has it, my sister has it." It is something that's simply out there that anyone can tap into equally. Therefore, there MUST be a physical explanation for how the Force transfers from one family member to another. George certainly couldn't make it simply about genes, as that's not imaginative at all. His explanation is a little more akin to "good bacteria," i.e. a symbiotic living organism that lives inside human beings. The idea that you can psychically engage with this invisible lifeform to manipulate the Force through them is an incredibly interesting sci-fi concept. They are a lower lifeform who is more in touch with the origin of life than the further evolved human beings, hence people can benefit from having a symbiotic relationship with them.
