Not only that, but one sun is very bright, nearly white, while the other has a much more stormy look to it, dark orange-red with clouds in front. Perhaps symbolizing the two paths in front of Luke: the Light Side, or the Dark Side.

Part of what makes this scene work so well is that, even though it takes place on an alien world, it's still so human. What young person hasn't looked off into the distance and wondered when their life will truly begin? And then you've got the majestic Force theme hinting at the heroism that Luke will go on to do. There's a hero in all of us.

I'm 57 now but I was 11 years old when I saw this. It was 1977 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Cine Capri, the largest screen in the state at that time. The day that Elvis Presley died as a matter of fact. As a kid in 5th or was it 6th grade, like so many others, I had a really difficult time at that age and I felt completely alone. I had no friends, no family I believed I could count on, well, nothing. I looked at the world in the same way I looked at myself which was well, hopeless. I absolutely believed in NOTHING. I can remember after seeing this film for the first time, ditching school and paying admission for the earliest show and then sinking low in my seat to avoid the ushers so that I had at least another two screenings. It is so hard to convey how much this "sci fi movie," helped me get through so many tough times as a boy. Just a tiny 35 seconds in an epic movie but... How it inspired me to believe in the UNSEEN and have a little bit more faith in not only myself, but my purpose as well. (I am still unsure of that but I am at least at ease now regarding it.) Of course it has been a long road but I will NEVER forget the first time I saw this clip. This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest moments ever filmed as far as I am concerned. A tiny little spark ignited in me when I first saw this and it whispered, "Anything is possible." The music, the moment and Luke. All my best to everyone.

The most iconic scene in a Star Wars film of all time. Sure, you’ve got your memes, and your emotional moments. “I will not fight you father”s and your “You were my brother”s, but this scene is always one of the first ones that comes to mind when I hear “Star Wars.” As others have said, it’s the scene that grounds the film for us all, because it’s Luke asking the same question everyone asks themselves at some point: “When will I finally get out of here?”
@J01137 ай бұрын
0:15, the great tragedy that Luke is not even aware of. The fact that he was supposed to be the son of the greatest Jedi, possibly in history. The fact that he was supposed to grow up in a galaxy spanning republic with peace and prosperity. To be trained in a Jedi-temple. To study the force. Instead, he is left on a barren world, far away from events and with no clue as to his true legacy. Always feeling there should be more, that he has a fate out there. But can't... quite... get there.
