She was right when she told him it might be best for him to leave the tribe and find his own way. The Mohawk loved Ian but they saw the pain he felt of losing two children, the made him part of their tribe but they didn't want him to forget that he has to find a balance between being Scottish and an honorary Mohawk

Probably in my top 10 favorite episodes across all 6 seasons, just beautifully done. I’m also just glad we finally got to put together Ian’s time with the Mohawk!! 🖤

You sir I will say only reading the books. And watching trailers for this show you became the Ian of the book. You have the think of Ian. He wanted no death but was a great warrior

They didn't really make it clear in the episode, but the vast majority of this episode actually was in the Native languages of Cherokee and Mohawk. Obviously, it would have been too much for the actors to have more than just small handful of native language lines. All of Ian's flashback scenes were in Mohawk. All of the scenes in the Cherokee village (except the intimate conversations between Jamie and Ian) were in Cherokee. That's why when Jamie told Chief Bird about the Trail of Tears, he said "the trail where they wept" because he didn't know the Cherokee word for tears. It hasn't been as obvious in the show, but in the books, it's established that Jamie is a polyglot. He can pick up languages unimaginably quickly, so by the time we get to book/season 6, and he's been living on Fraser's Ridge for several years, so he's fairly fluent in the languages of the nearby Native tribes, on top of still being fluent in Scottish Gaelic, English, French, Latin, Spanish, and German. And those are just the languages I know he's spoken at some point in the books. He's probably also pretty decent in any languages related to them like Italian, Portuguese, Irish Gaelic, Dutch, etc. He even picked up some Chinese from Yi Tien Cho. The only time I can think of where he encountered another language that he didn't recognize or quickly pick up was Russian. William is also described as being a bit of a polyglot, so lucky him, he inherited that gift. Brianna didn't, but then that could just be because she's American and our stupid school system waits to teach us second languages until after the language part of the brain is fully formed, instead of when we're still small enough to make the neural connections.

Outlander is full of amazing characters and couples. I cannot wait to see Ian´s experience life with Mohawks. Since young girl I have loved movies Stolen women captured hearts, Crazy horse etc. Outlander is so epic so amazing but me adoring this tv series gets stronger when they start building their life in America...

It took me watching this video to really realize the magnatude of the situation in which the Frasers/McKinzie's are in, knowing how history is going to/needs to play out and not being able to stop it, because if they do, they risk changing history. Although in a couple instances, Claire does change history, such as when she creates penicillin over a century before it's supposed to be created.

Subscribe to Starz for season 6. Starz is cheaper than most other premium channels, and it means cancellation of Outlander is less likely! Since Starz is who funds this. They have many other great series too, like the White Queen, the White Princess, the Spanish princess , and more!

One thing that i don't like is that they keep calling the Native Americans people, Indians, but they are not, Indian people come from India, they are Native Americans !! .
@richardgab75916 ай бұрын
The early explorers to the New World were trying to reach India and thought they had done so. So they referred to the Native Americans as Indians.
