For me it takes me back to that time period and also shows how much has changed since then. I have several other knives like this and I absolutely love them. Interesting to see the older knives. I'd like to see a video with quick spec rundown like materials used, weight, blade thickness etc. Knife designs have certainly changed in the last decade. Hope you feel 100% very soon.

I carried the Benchmade 420 Resistor for years. It was one of my favourite knives. I still have it. Though I haven’t put it in the pocket in a while. I think of the overlays are attractive. It was also available as an auto opener also. The model number was 4200.

I owned the 420 Snody. I gave it to my uncle and he still has it. I had 4 Benchmade Snody's. I only have one left. The 14200 and 14210 HK Snody's were fantastic.

I have the ZT 0562 which is very similar to the 0550. It has a carbon fiber grip and black stonewash finish absolutely beautiful and even after about 13 years still holds a great edge and nice strong lockup being one of my favorite EDCs.

Hang in there brother... back pain can be excruciating. Recently went through a few rough weeks myself. What works for me at least is a warm shower with a little ice after a tough day. God bless.. hope you feel better soon

I have been carrying a Benchmade Mike Snody 14210 everyday since I bought it 12 years ago. Wish they would remake it so I could buy another new unused one for a back up. LOVE THIS KNIFE.

I used a DOC as an edc for about 3 years. I have the second generation without the FU pocket clip. I still remember Jim Skelton reviewing the DOC and being pissed about how bad the pocket clip is.

You are doing good! I hope you get well soon. Love seeing your videos. Also, where I'm at and myself being very acidic, I understand the trouble with uncoated blades. That's why I put clp on my blades and never wipe them. Only when needed to be used. WD-40 specialist on the liners as well.

Back when ZT actually made new knives lol I used to have one of those 0550’s and actually ground my own wave mod into. That made a lot of collector-types upset 😂

That Benchmade is so nice! Wow. My favorite ZT is the 804. I handled it and it was so nice in Hand and Rock solid. Never thought to like that one. I handled a 350 Brand new and checked for blade play and it closed on me, but controlled of course. So thick Liner Locks doesn't mean strong. Sadly

The DOC is a tank. The blade on them are beefy. The DOC is Strider and MT, and the SF looks like similar DNA.

I have a problem with my Kershaw hotwire. when I flick it open the liner lock goes past where it’s supposed to lock. Anything I can do to make it stop?

There's some on ebay. I have a 0551 in Elmax BNIB from back when I was in a ZT phase. I'm not sure the diff between 0550 and 0551, just that they're extremely similar. The pattern on the G10 is a bit different.

God - Snody - thats a blast from the past. He was a very divisive figure back in the day. I actually still own the ZT0550. I think mine was a Gen 1 also but I carbidized the lockbar which was good enough to solve the TI wear issue. Its sad all those knives are now considered "old" - feels like some of those models only released yesterday. I never did like the DOC but the Whale Shark model that released around the same time was pretty cool. The early days of flippers eh?

Benchmade still puts the numbers on the knife blade along with the type of steel it's made from right? I have 2 griptillians black handles silver blade both 154cm the other 2 knives I really want so bad hope they don't get discontinued is the AFO 2 auto I want both black handle silver blade, & olive green handle black coated blade, & possibly black handle black coated blade, second knife I want is the the McHenry & Williams knife 154cm black handle with rubber grip but on a full aluminum handle instead of the noryl gtx plastic of the griptillian it's about the size of the mini grip ow and the AFO 2 is full aluminum handle as well I also really love the zero tolerance military 0200 & 0200st (combo half serrated/straight edge) its 154cm to me it's the best at knife ever made I love how its beefy much like the 0300 series but a little more sleek pointed of a blade and the inside of the bottom of the recurve is the perfect place to have serrations especially those round serrations that's aren't super pointed like teeth but just more round wavy so its its kinda like a combo straight & serrated in one or a straight edge with just slight wavy serrations its similar to the Kershaw blue you know how the tanto blue has the very pointy teeth serrations and the straight non tanto recurve blades that are combo edge have the same exact wavy round serrations just a comparison for those who may not know what I'm talking about with the zt's but have more likely seen a more common knife such as the kershaw blue although anyone can simply google these knives but anyway second really cool at knife is the 0301 & 0301st ranger green its s30v is the most expensive of the 300 styles its priced at $340.00 there's other 300's that are like $250.00 around there luckiest thing in the world I found the 0301 ranger green for $110 at a pawn shop & I also picked up my military 0200st combo edge for $90 it's priced $200 greatest knife deal I've ever come across I dont think the guy knew just how much they were really worth at right literally as the 0200 got discontinued the word was out on the internet it was right before Christmas I was trying to decide of I wanted another combo edge or a straight edge I went with straight because figured my only 0301 ranger green is in straight & even though I want to someday get the 0301st for now I should have a straight of each & both in the 0200 military the very second I made up my mind and ordered the knife they went from in stock all week to like 15 or so that day and night & when I pressed the order button they were literally gone I did it in the nick of time just barely the 0301 also became discontinued but then later on came back from everything I was reading looking up which is weird because I thought once a knife is discontinued it's perminate won't ever come back but it did I guess so yeah but I'd give anything for them to bring the 0200 back it's my favorite at knife ever I love how its 154cm all the other 300 models are s30v also there all these other new steps out know in recent years it's not just s30v, 154cm, d2, vg 10, ect I'm coming across many others that I've never even seen or heard of before also less common super steels that I've heard of but never saw that are becoming more common now so things are evolving that's cool I guess

For me it’s the SF last microtech yeah it need a little bit of love that’s the best part of it gives you that extra connection once you get rid of them damn rust spots,but honestly I wouldn’t say no to anyone of the hope you get that pain under control brother I know a hell of a lot easier to say than do.
