How many years does it take for the promotion from a TCS officer to an IAS or at least to be a Joint Secretary?

You can become Joint Secretary once you are senior enough, I mean when you are Grade I or SSG. But IAS nomination is a long process, and takes place after TCS SSG. So you can say minimum 20 years if everything goes smoothly.

Good evening Sir and Mam. I'm in dillema and I believe I can get my doubt cleared here. I've cleared TPSC LDACT exam in December and by 31st December we had submitted our acceptance of offer along with all documents. Yesterday, i.e., 1st Jan 2023, I got the result of IBPS RRB Office assistant and cleared it too. First question is which one would be better for me and if I are to choose RRB, will there be any problem in not joining the former?

You can apply for any one RRB as per the new exam rules. So its your choice where you want to work. After that no change is accepted neither allowed

Sbi clerk much better than rrb po. Rrb po less salary no perks ,very slow promotion. Many of my friends choose sbi clerk over rrb po. After 10 yrs of service sbi clerk will be at high post with high salary compare to rrb po
