They really didn't have to do that...haha seriously though hopefully we see some solid waves push through this dredge point before it washes away again into the Atlantic. Hurricane season is pretty much here so potentially we'll see some dreamers any day now. Today's video includes about 2 weeks of trying to score waves at the dredge & a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Red Bull Flugtag, in which I had the honor of MC'ing. You can tell you've truly arrived when the state builds you a perfect point break! As an old man, success to me is recognizing opportunities and grabbing them before they slip away. Only wish I figured that out at your age LOL! My dad went to college in Cincinatti in the early 30's. He studied aeronautical engineering. On your walk about it looked old (original) but amazingly clean! Unfortunately not so in California's larger cities. Great video and awesome waves!

Nice one Ben , have a look at South Straddie / TOS ( The Other Side ) At the northern end of the Gold Coast in Queensland . Sand pumping has been gold for sand banks 👍 Beach tubes galore

As someone who bikes a ton these days, you might want to raise that seat up. Having it too low can mess up your knees. At full extension, with the ball of your foot on the pedal, your leg should barely be bent. Save those knees! 🤘🏼

The dredge is classic! Va. Beach did that for us in the mid-80's. No surf anywhere, but for a week or so right in front of the dredge it was perfect chest high waves all day every day....then 1 day it was over...

Drege waves. They used to do this where I lived. Pulled the sand from the bottom of the harbor. Water tasted like pennies, and would throw up after a session. Nasty shit but so hollow.

Be Glad ... it does not always work out so well. Think Sebastian Inlet or other premiere breaks around FL that get messed up when they do re-nourishment

I know where it is. I’m not gonna give our spot away but it’s funny because I was just there today but I was a north up the beach and me and my dad drove up to the dredging area and looked and saw some really good waves. Ben, I am a cycle instructor....You need to move that seat up on your nordic track bike. You want just a slight bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke. If you do this over time, you will get less injuries and leg stiffness. Get that seat higher!

I got my longest surf ride ever, on the east coast, when they nourished a beach in NC about 25 years ago! The water was pretty nasty, the ride was sweet! I think it was about 200 yards, which is pretty epic compared to the typical 40 to 50 yard rides at most east coast locations.

Fyi, you shouldn't surf around the pipe when they are pumping since there is a layer of sand below the top layer that contains decaying matter, runoff, sewage, etc. Hard to get that taste out of your mouth. Had to brush my teeth several times in row haha!
