Asking for a full revert will simply not happen, so we need to stay realistic. But it's not enough, not even close. Not even close to being close to enough. It's a start, one tiny step.

There is one more aspect that needs to be taken into consideration NPC types. If an npc was designed to be kited around because its slow but hits like a truck, that npc cant have assassin, hasted, frenzied and some other offensivs mod because it defeats the purpose of the encounter design. And being clomped over the head by a supercharged rhoa that dashes from 2 screens away and cant be dodged is not fun. I honestly think archnemesis mods are a good ideea but some mod combinations and also some NPC - mod combinations need to be adressed somehow

Agreed. The most nightmarish of archnem mobs are often from the same group of base mobs. Personally a big one that comes to mind early on starting in BA is Revenants. Get the "right" modifiers coming together in those suckers and you just gotta throw the whole map or instance away. Even some of the earlier base types like Rhoas and RockSpitters can be especially toxic.

@Fedor Silva I'd also prefer they removed them, however I hated the old rares as they were Archnem pretty much took everything bad about them and multiplied the problems 10 fold. So what happens if they remove archnem? That being said it is unlikely they will fully remove this system so I'd settle for a compromise where they balanse it correctly. Additionally you have to think about their "vision" for the game and how they fundamentally want to change how we play by making mob fights more engaging and rewarding so to speak. The idea is sound but their implementation of it thus far has been a train wreck. With proper balansing Archnem could bring us closer to the vision. For example a possible path to balanse would be to further decrease how commonly rares spawn so that your seeing maybe 2 or 3 a map instead of a dozen, make the rares tanky enough that most characters won't just be able to sneeze at them and move on, reduce their base action speed substantially, add better telegraphing to their high damage attacks and have their smaller attacks deal minimal damage. That's just for base rares. On top of that the archnem mods need rebalansing so that their synergies don't create unstoppable immortal death machines that one shot most characters the moment they appear on screen if not sooner.

@Fedor Silva And? There aren't many bosses in the game right now with that kind of balance, and the current state of rares plenty you come across are much worse to fight than bosses. If they can be toned down so that they are essentially mini bosses wouldn't you say that would be more fun that what they currently are? Granted it wouldn't make much sense long term on it's own but it would be a step towards better balance and in line with their "vision" for the game.

What I find so strange is, that I dont really know what they want. I would be fine with Monsters beeing strong, if you were able to layer enough (different) defensive layer on top of each other to try to be not completely f*cked when an AN modifier remove one of them (or even multiple). But whenever it is possible to Stack too many (enough) defensive modifier they nerf the crap out of them, because it is "too easy". So what do you want? Either give US the means to protect ourselfs or nerf enemies. And to just say "build more defensive and skip damage nodes / items for that" is also ridiculous, as not beeing able to kill a mob makes it also very likely for the mob to kill us / run out of temporray defensive buffs / flasks while fighting the mob...

Also dont forget about the bait and switch BS they do. "give you the ability to be immune to chill/freeze" then put another debuff in the game that does the same thing but calls it something else so that your still affected by it. Ive been noticing these types of things a lot the last 2-3 leagues, theres ALOT of debuff icons that are brand new that do the same things we have defenses for but because they have different names they bypass our defensive layers, while Petrification isn't new its an example of what I mean as its nothing but a Freeze but there's nothing you can do about it and its starting to appear more and more outside of Betrayal encounters

I like Archnemesis mods, but I don't like rewards. Majority of you are the same, because I can bet both of my kidneys that everyone would love to fight a 3 minute long fight with one rare monster if It meant that you would get at least 50c~ in rewards as return of your endeavor. Archnemesis is not a problem, rewards are.

Trickster mob with lot of defence shit who just runs away and regen ES? Also many AN mods convert game with clunky movement system to bullet hell

I believe Chris has said before he wants poe to be a game you can basically watch a show/video while mapping. This seems like the beta test for 2.0, the defensive layers on rares were the Diablo 2 versions of immunities, making archnemesis the only loot droppers is the Diablo 2 way. If you watch d2 players farm for items, it's find the rares, kill, get loot, go to next rare/unique.

At least in D2 the monster is slow enough that you can read what they are to prepare. The only time they can run like the flash is if you let them hit and trigger frenzy, which mean you ask for it, otherwise they're slow, clumsy like any normal mob. The immune system combined with how easy for you to react means you must play smart and respect the monster you deal with. This does not apply for PoE, monster insta run in your face and kill you in 0.0001s. In D2 farming rare is an option, farming boss is also an option, if you can't do that, party with other to help you or review your build.

Dude thats just an echo chamber effect. They hid it not ulterior motives but because such core mechanics like loot drop should be hidden to not spoil the game. Of course I would've preferred they didn't implement Archnemesis through all the content. But since they did so they had to fix league monsters. As they should've done as soon those leagues ended. You still are able to have juice. Like going for quantity to rarity map + gilded expedition and making quant+rarity relic chain is so satisfying, completely ethical loot explosions in a controlled environment. While Empyrean way of playing was basically an exploit completely unethical.

What they are doing on the loot drops and minion change is simply going to reduce the entertainment of allot of builds like while I enjoy it I can only do like 2 or 3 league mechanics and still make enough currency to make it feel worth it. On top of that from my understanding I'm using really strong SRS build at the moment since most of the other minions are kinda bricked. So while I enjoy it with my build that doesn't make what they are doing good or should be supported unless they fix it

If I were to decide regarding Archnemesis: Make Archnemesis random encounters, just like any other league mechanic. Make Archnemesis monsters have rewarding combinations like in Archnemesis league for example vampiric + treant horde + rejuvination + assassin Add Archnemesis on atlas tree with an OPTION to have Archnemesis modifiers on all magic/rare monsters in maps with a substantial loot bonus by doing so Completely remove action speed increasing modifiers because they completely remove any sort of tactical approach to the monster, you just get chased down and one shot. If anyone has better suggestions im interested in hearing them :)

i think that the MAIN pain point that people arent realizing about archnem is that mob type + mod combination can be BRUTAL. those can really ruin things, and COMPLETE immunities should have NEVER made it into the final game. the "immune to wither" should never have existed and anyone who ever said that it was okay or looked at it and repeatedly said "this is fine" for since archnem existed is BAD at game development. that is such an egregious oversight and disconnect from how people play the game that they need to re-learn some fundamentals. when certain combinations pop up and make you do 90% less damage than you would to a normal mob you cant kill them. its just not realistic to be able to kill those mobs when they can kill you in .2 seconds if you make a SINGLE mistake(and sometimes even if you dont), have 5x your base speed AND have partial/complete immunity to your build. it seems they're admitting the outliers in tankiness, but the movement speed + damage combinations are still on the table as the egregious ones now. if they reduced the scaling of certain mob types and made certain combinations either not possible or not stack multiplicatively with each other then i think archnem would be okay.

Might just be in my mind, I dunno

My ideea of solving archnem was to give the mods tags like defensive , offensive and utility and cap them at 1 of each . That way rares wont be overtunned but a little difficult at times

Chronicon is so much better once you change the inputs, ui size and modify the minimap a bit. In less than 15 hours I reached level 150 and can farm the endgame with a perfect mix of "righteous fire" proccing a "fire profane bloom". I'm currently doing the dlc content for the beast thingy and pushing to farm mythic 15 maps (currently mythic 3, still has a lot of things to farm and upgrade to get to thatl).

Sudden death has always been an issue in PoE and has never been fixed. There is simply no limit to how much damage a monster can do and how fast they can apply it

They can make combat with rares active. Rares just need to attack by boss attacks that posses rare. For example Kitava touched can deal damage by Kitava attacks, people know that attacks so they know when to deal dmg, when to dodge.

One good solution that some games successfully implemented is to introduce stacking penalty for multiple mods. So 2 mods can have no penalty, but for each additional one the penalty increases by a certain factor. It can change exponential power growth into logarithmic. It can prevent things from exploding numerically and become much easier to balance. You could easily tune the stacking penalty to increase or decrease power.

That's what smart people would do though. It's doubtful they will do anything with thought based on the history of their spaghetti code full of illogical multiplications that the playerbase has gotten used to affecting things negatively and positively at times. That's why they keep wanting to nerf power creep and why they probably didn't realize how illogical their loot algorithms were and think it's ok to just change to something they wished they programed correctly way back when before their playerbase got used to the juicing playstyle for late endgame. Either dumb or lazy, can't tell which one, but with fast paced deadlines and a shit ton of cash involved you can guess which. Which is why I doubt they would ever take on an intelligent way of handling things as you suggested.

i am currently lvl 91 with my CF starter,i played everyday since league launch. even tho i didnt play as much as i used to do,i still played a lot. now the fun part,the lvl itself doesnt really tell whats going on bc i could be someone thats just slow in general. but i played all the december events and had 4-5 characters lvled to 94+ in each event (heist,delve,deli,and the other one) and its not like i played insane characters all the time, i started,for me,new builds that i had never played b4 and i even managed to get lvl 94 with my zombie build in deli everywhere which i tried to change into some carrion golem stuff but realized it was freaking hard to get the jewels in trade bc no1 played deli XD and i had to farm that stuff myself and i still managed to get that character to 94 in 2 days as a starter in that event. now i am just dying,everytime i hit 50% to next lvl there is one of these ridiculous dudes in my map that just blow me up and i cant even tell how and why(b4,bc i dont have time to read their mods b4 they kill me) and the most frustrating thing for me is that i am 1shotting everything screen wide but then these dudes pop out of nowhere and are unkillable while 1shotting me all the freaking time. these insane difficulty spikes are nothing i can prepare for,i dont know if that map or the next corner is going to have such a crazy dude nor which kind of fight i am going to face the next 10 steps i am taking. its just frustrating. there is just no counterplay to this. in another comment i said i am okay with offensive mods in the game if they remove haste and such things,i need to be able to disengage a fight and not be forced to stay in it. thats one point but after all i'd probably just try to kill these insane dudes offscreen. thats not interactive/fun at all. but if the mods are so scary,i'd rather choose that tactic,than dying and losing exp at the higher lvls. also bc the mods are so insane i am so thirsty for lvls its crazy. i tend to dont care about lvls once i hit 85,the other lvls are coming sooner or later but rn i just beg for a new lvl so i can spec another defense node. its so freaking sad T_T

My biggest problem with this league is honestly build variety. They nerfed a lot of the meta skills from last league without giving anything substantial buffs. Might be bugging me more than it should since melee skeles were my favorite build in the game and they got caught in the crossfire when skele mages got gutted.

I've always put PoE ahead of anything else in the genre because of the build variety. Even among the skills themselves, you've got such cool concepts like Flicker Strike, Charged Dash, ED/Contagion, Brand skills, Plague Bearer... such creativity even before you factor in support gems and uniques. But the game has reached a state where I can't use any of them in SSF. The other thing that made PoE so cool was the variety of endgame content. You could focus on doing abysses or delve or alva missions depending on your build and preferences. But now only 2-3 mechanics are worth doing if you want to progress. So since I am being forced into playing one of a few skills I don't like and doing a few types of content I don't like (always hated Heist) I'm jumping ship to go try Last Epoch again. I bounced off it because it's skills seemed pretty basic, but it beats whatever I'd have to use to kill AN mobs in SSF without getting one shot constantly.

My biggest problem with archnem is vampiric, mostly playing attack builds, which mostly use mana leech, if there is just a single rare with a vampiric mod i just have to skip it. every time. Had to leave my lake of kalandra cause there was a rouge metamorph with vampiric that i just couldnt kill.

Think they should make just one buff mod for each damage type, give it increased damage/resistance. Then make some effect mods that add skills like some of the bestiary/essence mods, with increased a focus on the "increased clarity" that was the stated reason for the rare change in the first place. The effect mods shouldn't have any added stats, so we avoid the current problem with multimod monsters becoming nigh on invulnerable.

What I think they should do is put the entirety of archnemesis on the Atlas passive tree. That way it's disabled during campaign, it allows those who want to play it and allows them to tune it to however hard they want with compensating rewards. Everyone wins.

Actually I get a lot of loot now, not sure if I am lucky, but on T16 I have a lot of rewards (I really juice the maps though, not sure if this is the reason). However, Archnemesis and Harvest are still hug eproblems

Honestly from a design perspective, I think the #1 way to make rares more interesting is to make them SLIGHTLY tankier and have POSITIONAL mechanics of type dodge/attack from an angle/break shiled by collecting orbs that spawn around/etc. to make the figts require SOME attention without deleting ur character in 2 hits while running at 3000% speed. To be honest tho, the game is so fast that it's questionable whether that would even work. But the current implementation doesn't work either so they should at least try SOMETHING ...

I do agree that certain combinations shouldn't be possible. Another way I could see a bit of a balance is to make it so that all additional AN modifiers apart from the "primary" one get a reduction in power by something like 20% so that the 5th AN modifier is only at 40% of its strength and god forbid the 6th modifier at 32% etc.

This was a potential solution I was thinking could be good too. Basically each subsequent modifier would increased the mobs power, but with diminishing returns. It would make it so the "first modifier" would be the defining modifier of the mob.

I don't hate AN.. Some of the modifiers, like the "[boss]-touched" mods, are visually and mechanically interesting.. they aren't overly challenging but they make you stop and think.. It's the generic and oppressive mods that make the fights unfun.. I'm fine with boosted dmg on unique telegraphed animations that can one-shot you.. I'm not okay with enough dmg to 1-tap you with a basic attack on a rare that's as fast as a lab runner and an infathomable amount of DEF.... honestly the "hasted" modifiers need to either go or be cut in half at least. No reason a rare should be so fast that you don't even have the choice to run away..

I am on block char with 250k hit pool when max buffed, and I did lvl75 logbook yesterday, i took quite a bit mods, and even white mobs where tanky af, and then there were two Steel Infused blue mobs - I just could not kill them. (my dps sucks right now, but I do have about 1.2mil with impale). I died 5 times ... Also you think it was profitable? I would say one good operatives strongbox gives more currency ...

Removing the 10% max res modifiers is a great change, as this alone means, for the countered builds, you do 66% more damage to those monsters. They should also review how offensive stuff stacks, the banning of certain combos would be nice, also another option is to lower the power of such mods as you stack more AN modifiers (IE: 85% of effect with two AN mods, 75% with three AN mods, etc). I don't know how they overlooked this, AN rares are still by far the potentially most dangerous foes you will encounter, above UBERS.

i think they have a right idea of introducing an active combat style. much like bossing, but their way of it did not deliver. The part where they undelivered is the aspect of anticipating the move that the boss is going to do, instead they just introduced non sensical run and swipe until you're either dead or out of the map. which for one does not even include a boss dodging mechanic. Boss mechanics at least give you a voice line to prepare you for a one shot tank busting move that they have. And if they dont have a voice line for it, their action is slower and building up, giving you time to react to it. Also bosses give you insane rewards, arch nem mobs, you'll be lucky to even receive 1 chaos out of the stuff they drop. I played poe for the looting aspect of the game, but if they aren't fixing that, then I will never be coming back to play it. I also love the game, but the current state of it does not want me to invest my time. I will gladly just watch the content creators.

Every change possible to AN won't matter if the average player is struggling to sustain maps and currency to roll maps. I'm fine dying every now and then, COD-Portal is in SC for a reason. But spending my day mapping, ending off with less currency than when I started and no maps for the next day, is just soul-crushing. This league is Heist/Expedition/farm white map Essences or die broke, and that's a terrible feeling.

They could just as easily tackle the problem by making certain mods give exponentially better rewards as they start to stack up so it's almost always worth the time.

remember when they removed damage reflection mods from monsters? why was that? because it became a necessity to be reflect immune in order not to die every other map. now with the AN mods it is similar. you need to be fast, tanky, have hight damage, not require mana for movement skills, be able to stop monsters from regenerating life and penetrate resistances. probably there is more. but all of this just results in one thing: you cant make specialized builds work anymore. only very balanced characters that can handle all the AN mods will have a good time. Everyone else is fucked.

I'll say it's not enough, I already installed grim dawn. This was my first playthrough and the patch hit between my day one and two. It became such a grind overnight and I'm out. I haven't even reached the point where archenemies will 2 shot me and the gear drought is too much

I made that joke in 3.18 and here I go again. They really made this feel like the old dia 2 lord of destruction exp where we stoped killing rare mobs in act 5 and 3 because some where just unkillable. So atleast GGG achieved their goal of making people feel nostaligic, even if it is in a bad way. ^^

I'm *hating* the difficulty spike in poe. I pop in a t1 map and run into an essence mob(whatever they're called in ice), I free it and die in 1-2 seconds. That's just what the hell? How is that happening in a t1 map. I read about some of the changes and I'm very skeptical. I'm playing a melee build and I can't even stand near one of the juiced up essence mobs without dying.

It’s real fun getting off screened / 1 hit. In a league start scenario to be atv80% spell suppression 4K life , molten shell , determination, grace, granite/ jade flask up to just get smacked and dead when you don’t even see the mob. Fun game play. You should always be able to better player the mechanic and this isn’t possible right now.

good explanation of the combat and how they are trying to change it but i dont enjoy bossing and im sure a lot of people are with me on that i just want to blast maps its what ive been doing for years and now they are forcing me to change what ive enjoyed for that time, so adding mini bosses in the form of rares isnt the poe i fell in love with

Unless they restore loot drops to pre-3.19 levels - with a 25% cap on party drops - they simply won't recover what they've lost: *_trust._* They severely damaged that in 3.15 but they have utterly destroyed it with 3.19 And either re-introduce ALL of the harvest crafts or simply delete harvest entirely.

My issue is... I think a lot of ( meta, or not even) build can be bricked by some combination of archmods... Banning those combination is going to be a tedious "GGG this combination sucks too" and every time the answer will either be "oh, we'll put it on the list" until there is 3 allowed combinations left or worse "git gud [OP meta build that ignore 99% of mods & combinations until it gets nerfed, and then jump on the next one]"...

That clip you showed, yeah obviously archnem rares are OP in certain situations but its an exarch mob, he mightve had 10 altar modifiers active there and thats obviously very risky. Lets not jump into conclusions after watching a suspicious clip

Saying that “the vast majority is not having fun” is either a misunderstanding of basic statistics/social interactions or a straight up manipulation. Since I believe in good intentions of this man, I’d say he (like everyone of us, frankly) is specifically searching for “facts” that can be interpreted in a particular way that proves his point/claim. Here’s what I mean (it’s pure psychology). He claimed in the other video that content creators like himself are a big influence on the community, attraction to new players and retention of current players. This is true and I totally agree - it’s quite significant. Take notice that we cannot calculate the significance with the data we have (we can only “guess” and “have an opinion” and my opinion is in agreement with his on this one). Now if he and almost every major content creator start whining and be publicly frustrated with the new changes, saying “they ruined it all”, “I think I quit guys”, “it’s pointless and stupid” etc. They almost say it in unison and within a span of a week or less. Think about what happens to the opinion of those who watch them. Same thing that happens when you watch big media - it FORMS your opinion. It’s absolutely NOT objective, since your experience may be totally different if you’d turn off your social media for that period of time and just read the patch notes. Then he looks at the results and the graph of players retention or current active players amount in a time series and makes an INTERPRETATION that “People are not having fun, you see, guys? The graph proves my point and it’s a fact”. The graph is a fact but the interpretation and the cause-effect confusion is kinda obvious to me. Very simple human psychology, no offense to Matth, really. Thanks to those who read this 🙏

As you pointed out this still doesn't address archnemesis rares having quite an easy time getting a combination of mods that effectively one shot you... Hopefully this was just a matter of going one thing at a time rather than them just absolutely not addressing this problem at all. But as the title states. A good step in the right direction. But they're taking baby steps when we need them to take leaps and bounds

To me the issue with GGG is that they always just throw a bunch of (new) shit in the game and only over time things get balanced. Be it either with new skills or league specific content or in this case with these modifiers. I play the game for almost 10 years and I still (despite the all the nerfs) continue to play it, but in those 10 years the game has never been balanced and it never will. They don't give a shit about balancing the game. They just want you to play the game differently from time to time and use the phrase "balancing" to cover it up.(If they care to mention a change at all). They also barely test anything.

they shouldn't even be trying to make rares be unique. they don't telegraph anything. the mods should be applied on a pack by pack basis, with the mods spread between the pack monsters. this makes the entire pack dangerous but no single mob becomes a unkillable instant death machine. the loot increasing parts would affect the entire pack that has the mods. this stops mods from stacking on a single enemy, making it much easier to balance because each mod can be tuned to work with each other mod. when multiple mods would create another mod that new mod gets placed on another mob in the pack. then they can split the the power of the mods into personal mob buffs and aura buffs. personal mob buffs can be high (there is only one allowed per mob) and aura buffs can be very small, plus it allows fine tuning of how strong the entire pack can be with a bunch of mods, while still allowing for each mod to make certain mobs much more scary. this also keeps magic/rare monsters from becoming much more powerful then unique monsters are, while allowing the pack to work as a functional unit....instead of a single rare monster that has massively more power then a lot of bosses do.

Is damage for rares really coming from Archnemesis? Haven't rares always had more damage than Maven on the right conditions? Archnemesis has made it a problem since they don't die quickly anymore, but the damage has always been fucked up

i dont know where people got that number of 90% less loot down to 75% less loot. Especially now after the changes. I guess those streamers who play 8-16 hrs a day just play a different game then most of us. Was the game always as biased as this to hardcore player that they are malding this hard now? I cant feel those changes with the recent fix. and i play 2-4hrs a day so not the most casual. Regarding Arcnemesis: yes - bad, offensive aswell as defensive. That is true.

It's pure mathematics. Going from a 8000%~ quantity and rarity bonus in league content to 250% bonus is notable. It's a notable change to many, many players, including myself, not just the top 1%. I'm sorry you've not noticed.

GGG doesn't know how to kill our characters without one shotting them. That's the reality. They want to make the game hard, but instead of increasing chip damage, and making regen more important, they're buffing the edge cases where you'd get killed in a single hit. There's no skill and counterplay in that. It's just frustrating.

Really true. I'm a POE newbie and after 200hr I still don't understand the logic of one-shotting the player for every small mistake. Making multiple damage sources that kill you if you make multiple mistakes if good game design, but one-shotted for one mistake is not. Chris loves D2 but I'm pretty sure last time I played it I didn't get OS every 2s

Taking a look at grim dawn may help there.... The regen mechanic life is genius and you can let monsters hit for about 20%of life easily. You will have to engage and disengage from time to time. But it's fun at least.

While i agree that such rares shouldnt be 1-2 shoting you in normal maps without modifiers, there still has to be some of this deadly opponents in the game otherwise its to boring/easy and you can sleep through mapping. Diablo 2 also had this Fanatism Moonlords with Manaburn or sniping Souls in the game which where highly dangerous for any teleporting Sorc and basically the only way you could die other then a disconnect. Without them you wouldnt have to concentrate yourself at all. However in D2 you knew which mobs you had to lookout for/avoid while in poe every kind of rare could be your last opponent and in most cases you dont have the time to read the mods/react. Maybe a new kind of highlighting those rare mobs with really deadly combinations would help on a better playing experience but erasing them completly is not the solution for this problem.

I have a huge problem with the archnem exponential Hp scaling when they get to 3+ mod, how they defeat the entire idea of a ranged characters, and how they invalidate the rhetoric of "you can choose to run away". Addressing the last part of the statement.. no you can't. It is not a choice. Not 99% of the time. Almost every single rare that has 4+ modifiers, sometimes even 3+, will have an oppresive way to get on top of you. Hasted, blink, slowing u donw, etc... Or he will bomb u from 3 screens away. Running away is just not an option The first part of my statement is an after effect I hate even more. I have played rpg's all my life. And Arpg's since the first one came out. I have always always been a big fan of ranged dps clases. Which in every single game in existence is an archetype (be it ranged weapons or spellcasters) constructed as a squishier one in terms of traditional defences and hp pool because he has a different defensive layer built into his archetype.. the ability to keep handle mosnters from afar. Rn the game completely shits on that. I don't want to make a Ranger bow build with all of the blanket defences that everyone is using like determination and suppression, which are basically "damage soak" mechanics. It doesn't work with the character archetype fantasy. I am suposed to be fast, nimble, and nuke enemies from a far. And that is how I want to play. I will take my ocasional deaths for not building defences in the exact same way as every tank archetype on the left side of the tree via armor and endurance charges. Yet right now, in every instance of this "meaningfull combat" I am fighting with the archnem mob in MELEE RANGE. The recent changes made to the game all amass to all character archetypes being built in the exact same way. Your character class choice is solely dictated by your starting position on the tree and some "stick stat" bonuses on your ascnednacy. Not by what archetype of character you want to build and what type of gameplay style you can expect from that given arhcetype. How can you when shit like archnemesis gets added to the game and every soul on wraeclast has to be preparead for hand to hand combat? Imo the only way to balance this fiasco out is either remove or understand that you can not have both tanky or dealdy rares. Not both. Make him deadly as fuck but lemme kill him before he reaches me or make the mob tanky but allow me even as a ranged archetype to take some hits without having invested into all the defences that a fuckin marauder has.

Archnemesis was most stable mid sentinel. The newest one was broken, probably not for you. It depends on the build. Stacked resist Archnemesis takes 5 minutes to kill. Literally had to have 1 million dps to feel comfortable with white map Archnemesis. That’s not okay. Changes are very good.

im missing even common currency like alchemy orbs to make maps rare. i HAVE to run Heist to get alchs or orb of bindings, just for maps. yday i ran over 50 maps, im getting aprox 1 alch every 4-5 maps, if there wasnt essences i wold never sustain anything, and thats in white and yellow maps, i cant imagine how bad it will be in red maps. cant even get to red maps anyway, since map drops are ultra rare, and beside that things are REKTING me all the time, 1 shoot 2-3 times per map at least, and i know what im doing, 4k hours in the game, im not begginer and it isnt my first league. no clue how to progress like this, its complete shitshow

Yea. For me it was the same story. Completely stuck at t9 with all possible +1 lvl map drops nods and the only reason I progressed is essence farming and buying maps from other ppl. You start to get a shit ton of maps on t14+, basically when you dont need them anymore.

We actually know for sure Carn did NOT have any altars affecting damage because Wrath of the Cosmos now has an icon at the top with a counter for how many altars you've clicked and he does not have that icon at all (on the twitch clip, you can see the first icon is his totem). I think the single AN mod that I and a ton of people hate is Droughtbringer, which GGG did nothing about in their list. I'd love to play a PF and particularly do one where a juiced Bismuth Flask allows me to not get res on my gear. But I can't because if Droughtbringer shows up, I will instantly die. I'm sure you know this is far from the only idea that that mod outright bricks. I'm okay with "I need a ton of investment to overcome Droughtbringer's effect" but right now there is no defense. Droughtbringer mobs aren't even visually distinctive enough in a fight for me to recognize and run from.

Make monsters to have attacks that are projected. They can be tanky and it's fine. Some of those attacks (as long as it's projected) can one shot you. It will reward skilled play instead of just standing or randomly running around and killing it. And, obviously, lootdrops from these monsters ONLY need to be increased. Which means, adding loot modifiers to Archnemesis modifiers.

honestly, I dun feel any skilled play, just running from one end of the map to the other end, right click, run, and occasionally flame dash. can't even spend 1 sec to read what mods the mob have. really, the most skilled play I have is, if I see porcupine, I dun dash in and kill it. the actual skilled play is in actual boss fight rather than AN rares

The loot issue remains. Tbh I care much much less about archenemesis issue.....it looks easily fixable. The loot issue however......I think it won't ever be changed and even more fearsome it shows that GGG basically don't understand a huge part of what makes a good HnS........and this is really bad news for PoE2. After d3 and diablo immortal, I think that blizzard simply don't understand the HnS type anymore. Blizzard really thinks that the point of a HnS is to take 15 min to clear a few screens (the GR concept they are so proud of). The same way I think GGG don't understand the HnS anymore.

I used to play hardcore my entire life on both diablo and PoE, but a few years ago I quitted PoE hardcore because of that level of bullsh*t. Getting killed everytime by something completely unpredictable, offscreen, undodgeable or unseen is not fun at all. Hardcore PoE is 80% luck of not finding any of those bullsh*ts

IMO stormweaver is fucking OP. You barely see this storm fuckers, and all of the sudden they spawn 4 on your face and you die no matter what. 100% spell supp, 75 lightning res, 5k hp. Nothing helps.

the fun is " kill so many monster and the challenge being at bossing" now it feels like the fun is exile from the game because being killed by a monster instead of killing it is not fun at all.... and of course with the juicy omega trash loot we get.
