As a player who is new to kingdom builders, and it just starting towards Season 2, it is interesting to me to hear Boss Nasti and Chisgule's perspective on KvK fights. I think my kingdom is trying to set up an easy season 2 victory, and i'm already starting to feel the boredom of waiting for the PVP in Season 2 to start. If our Season 2 is just my kingdom snowplowing the other kingdom(s) then where is the fun. I have told fellow R4s and R5 that our priority should be equal parts grow in power, while having fun. Players having fun will keep alliance retention higher than another season with a boring victory. Some people don't mind that, but i know that many players will value having a fun fight every couple of days even if that means they lose the dragon at the end of the season. This became a stream of consciousness. Hope it made sense haha

Doesn’t matter if you like Chisgule or BDO. All of the points discussed by him and BN are spot on and has been a huge issue for a lot of the top “fighting” kingdoms. ECHO did a good job setting the example of prioritising their members desire to fight over easy boring seasons

I’d argue if they just allied bxs and nts from the start they would of had more fights. Bxs dodged echo and never built a single tower into zone 2 while nts fought for 2 days only because they didn’t see the point and only wanted to prove to echo what kind of Allies they missed out on. Echo side could have at least set up skirmishes and still had fun and set up a season where two major alliances didn’t feel the need to even play much due to being side lined to the point bxs collapsed. Then once gate 5-6 open you’d have even more fun with an even match up. Like what echo showed was that the match ups were actually more favored for them when it was argued otherwise. No hate to them, they played like beasts. But they could of had more fights and gotten dragon while not pissing nts and bxs off

@@Kungpowchickn Completely agree with this. If BXS and NTS had aligned from the start, it would’ve set the stage for way more strategic fights and fun for everyone involved. Dodging towers and sidelining alliances like that only ended up making the season feel imbalanced. Echo played great, no doubt, but there was so much missed potential for skirmishes and evenly matched battles. Plus, achieving the dragon without all the drama would’ve been a win-win. Definitely feels like this could’ve been a much better experience with a more thoughtful setup early on

In CoD, there are two different concepts based on power, the migration cap is based on the number of player above 15 million power. Matchmaking is based on the total power of all players above 15 million power. In RoK you fill your hospitals and kill troops to lower your power before matchmaking. In CoD, you can just fill your hospitals as there is no limit, and slowly heal after matchmaking. That unlimited hospital capacity is a huge difference.

14:00 I did that with my SoS1 kvk. Presented the data on our match up to everyone in our group. BTR and EXP still chose an easy kvk.

Good video, thank you! Id agree that winning the dragon isn't always the most entertaining. Ive lost many seasons lol. We've fought until the end in every season, everyone had much more fun, We're not a huge kingdom, the only time we got dragon was via diplo and frankly it was boring and fighting was limited. The only thing i dont enjoy is bastions. Understand what you said about barricades and turrets but at least with those, if you had field supremacy, you could progress! Bastions are stupidly OP, can be defended by a minimum of people, take so long to destroy, and grind whole sections of the map to a halt last SoS season. I preferred turrets tbh (even with the associated OCD of getting turrests in straight lines!)

We really need a feature to simulate migration. Migration is super expensive and until now there's no clear number that really define a kingdom capacity beside that green yellow red color.

It was cool that my current kvk season was being featured on the video. Also we are all mostly surrounded the dragon the fight has been great but with a lot of whales from an ally migrating to NTS mid season almost completely messed us up. Glad we were able to bounce back with good gameplay and war.

Good interview. Some great points. Recruiting only high power players and then complaining about server caps is silly. # of active players in a kingdom will always outperform high power sleepers, in addition to providing efficient server capacity min-maxing . Eventually things will balance out and the focus will shift onto developers ability to keep us engaged.

But then I remembered it’s a good way for him to give good feedback and gather feedback without being biased towards the game. When I think about the other comment, it’s pretty ironic that he maybe doesn’t make KZbin videos but is happy to comment on someone making KZbin videos.

The irony is BDO and TA were the first teams I ever saw in call of dragons ally for a free win and now that BDO is losing and not doing well chisgule tries to turn it into its “not fair”. the team he’s describing is BDO from BDOs history. BOD and P2W vs 2 teams we can’t even remember was the most imbalanced kvk I’ve ever seen.
