The coolest thing about this officer was he flat out interrupted the guy and said “I’m just asking for me. You’re fully free to leave at this point”. Basically saying…. I’m willing to learn if you’re willing to teach me. But this is no longer a traffic stop. Cool dude.

That's wild that that's legal! When we were kids we'd sometimes have to ride like that to connect trails, and it was illegal. If a cop ever saw he'd try to ticket us for it so we had no real choice but to disappear down the next trail. I guess they knew we were just kids out riding. They never sent helicopters out after us.😂

If you didn’t view all cops as A holes, it’s not insane. The cop was willing to learn something new, what’s wrong with taking a moment to educate him? Nothing. As a commercial drone pilot, I’m educating cops on a regular basis these days. Cops don’t know everything, and the ones that are willing to listen and learn, are cool people. But you don’t know that until you talk to them. Still, some are A holes, but it’s a bad idea to treat them all as so.

I will take the time to educate a cop, if they are willing to learn. The ones who are willing to learn something that they didn’t know about are the cool ones. But you won’t know that they are cool unless you talk to them. Treating all cops like they are A holes is a bad idea.

Technically, that is not ditch riding. The fact that you can legally ride it the ditch is very cool the state allows it.
