Great episode!! My 4 year old daughter and I were watching the tour de france yesterday, and she asked "can I be a bike racer one day?" Without missing a beat I said "Yes You Can!" :-) So excited! I can't wait for the day when she beats me in a sprint!

Finally, some recognition for the fruit snack industry by some major league riders. I dream of the day where fruit snacks are a staple in not only the back pocket of every cyclist, but the back pocket of America. While I am elated to see the snack of the gods on the [size] screen, Mott's Fruit Snacks are a very poor choice as a fruit snack ambassador, and fruit snack in general. At least they are not as bad as Daily Chef or Sunkist brand fruit snacks, they are, pardon me, shite compared to the likes of Market Pantry (target brand), Kelloggs, Farmer's Market, and Welch's (only for the ease of access). But, in my opinion, the holy grail of fruit snacks is the WinCo Brand bulk fruit snack. The finest flavors and texture, combined with the lowest price I've seen (I usually get 10lbs for 20 dollars) makes them unbeatable. Thanks State Bicycle Co. for the fruit snack montage, it made me smile.

State Bicycle Co. The honor is mine. I'm like Phil Gaimon if he liked fruit snacks instead of cookies, minus being really good at riding a bike.

I cannot tell if this is way too much thought on the subject or way too little? I am glad you have found a place to channel your efforts. I am no expert on the subject but enjoy some fruit snacks on rides.

I remember never watching bike racing, then I got hit by a car on my new bike and started watching lotsa racing to ease the pain of not riding. It was right around the classics season and I was enamored by the cobbles and those long races. I had no clue what flanders or roubaix was, or really that there was a women's world tour. And to get my fix I saw there was a women's flanders and got to watch a stream of it with no clue who anyone was. And then I saw Coryn win and the emotions and the announcer saying it was the first american to ever win and I was like, damn, I witnessed something pretty amazing.

4:05 white affluent male?? i can't think of a single champ who came from money. "white" is a massive generalization the pro peloton is filled with guys across all of Europe and the US and south american riders are pretty common as well.

@statebicycle6 жыл бұрын
I think the main point is, typically speaking, taking a look at the pro-peloton 99% of the riders look a certain way. People tend to relate to those who are familiar to them (look the same way, are from the same place, etc). It's hard to grow the sport when children and other potential riders can't envision themselves as pro riders or relate as closely. Diversity will be a good thing ultimately for the sport.
