Statement! Marine 50' Catamaran

Shakedown run for the new Statement! 50' Catamaran powered by Lycoming T-53 Turbines, at 3000 HP. Updated April 2020: We at FPC Studios were hired by Statement! to shoot this shake-down run and it was an exciting day for all of us. While the video was intended just for Statement! Marine's website and a boat show promo video, we decided to give KZbin a try, after starting our channel just a month earlier in April 2010. The rest is history...as Statement! has evolved into a major force in the performance marine industry, and Florida Powerboat Club's KZbin channel just hit 10-years with 25,000 subscribers and about half-million views per month. This has been the most viewed, most copied, most commented-on video in all of those ten years! Enjoyed making this video with Todd & Nick from Statement! Johnny Tomlinson on the throttles and Todd driving...I was amazed how fast they connected and got this shake-down run into some seriously high numbers, and the boat was stable through all the paces.

@Patriot Jefferson Afaik no one was hurt but I had no info about that, just that the boat was destroyed. The MISS GEICO raceboat was destroyed in 2012 when a fuel line broke in the engine bay during a test run. Both men got off the boat w/o injury.

Turbine Marine builds a Lycoming turbine engine that makes 1850hp with a bump up to 2000hp. Two of those should make this boat run around 200mph. If that's not fast enough for you, they can build T-55 Lycoming turbines that make 2750hp with a bump to 3000hp which would be a 220-225mph boat. These are military helicopter engines that have been completely rebuilt to flight specs. There are some differences due to being put in a marine environment but they're basically the same ultra-reliable engines that choppers use.

I have no doubt the boat can run 180. Some choppers can too and that one may be one of them. The FPC has a lot of fast boats so you need a faster bird to keep up with them.

The boat can do 180, but in this video it was only a little Robinson R44 chopper doing the chasing...so the boat didn't go that fast :) I don't think the Robinson can manage 100...

Fishing Rod And look at all that room between the engines. You could put a LOT of fish boxes in there! Two big problems though; no non-slip and no side rails. You would have to fish from the cockpit.

The track is called zircon hourglass released in 2005/06 and for those that say that the helicopter can't do 180 mph your right, so how can the boat do that when the speedboat is doing 180 mph the chopper is hovering in one place and the shot is towards and from that spot and when the chopper is keeping up with the boat it's on reduced power look at the roster tail and the bow it's not that far out of the water the spray is coming from the bow not the stern of the boat.

We have races in the States in 5'-7' seas, sometimes more off Key West and the New Jersey coast. The builders are former racers themselves so they build their pleasureboats to the same specs they raced with. This boat will run 80-100 in 5-7s.
