Edit: I really appreciate your adoration for my beloved hometown. Thanks for the wonderful ride down memory lane. I'm glad to say it hasnt changed much and is still a lovely small town. I know my comment is all over the place but you just literally drove through my childhood. I'll be back soon for the holidays. My hometown and not in the mountains at all. It's considered Foothills or Piedmont. Mountains are an hour and a half, 2hrs or so to top of real mountains. That Schwinn bicycle shop has been there forever and where my dad bought all of my bikes from! I have a picture of my first tricycle when I was 4 in candy apple red with tassles! 😂 That store directly across the street was a seven eleven gas station where my dad would take me for slurpees.😋 Further up that same road (West Front St.) is where our house was (at 10:11 min mark). That church ( 09:49) was our church (Front St. Baptist) that we would often walk to unless grandma wasn't up to it. 21:36 my sister worked at that Hardee's. 22:07 is home to the Statesville Greyhounds (SHS) my old high school which my dad and I both graduated from!

@@blackout270 Went to Alexander Central Taylorsville class of 99. You guys where in our conference. Man where has time gone. Joined Navy in 99 right after High School. Been in San diego now for 25years. Making the move to Hickory this summer hopefully. Ready to come back to the country. Slower pace life. Miss the country and all seasons and the people.

Calling statesville mountains is crazy…. Mountains are an hour 30 away. And statesville is one of the grossest unsafe towns in 50 miles. The entire city is the getto. It’s a no go at night

Saludos Jose God Bless you North Carolina is a Beautiful state I love it I lived in Hickory and I used to work out in Statesville and it's a wonderful place comparing to other towns or places I won't change NC for no other state even though I'm living in Massachusetts right now but I hope to be back soon.
