Wow I’m from WS and must say your tour and commenting was very ignorant to say the least. You did this city no justice and the racial overtones were ridiculous! There are so many nice neighborhoods in WS and definitely a great arts culture there but you wouldn’t know it from your POV. Why not drive over to where Wake Forest University is located? You were in East Winston for a bit, why not drive over to WSSU a nice HBCU campus and drive past Bowman Gray Stadium where not only WSSU host football games but nascar has one of the oldest tracks there as well? Why not drive over off country club road to show the nice older mansion style homes and tree lines streets where folks could see where the “old money “ and history of part of the city comes from? How about driving through West End neighborhoods to see some nice older homes and parks where sone of the affluent stay? Why not drive through more of the downtown streets by the old tobacco factories to see how they have been renovated into research facilities, condos, restaurants and shops and bars with live music? Not to mention the baseball park area where the semi pro team plays? It’s there! Do better to be better!

This is crazy how when I was a kid a use to think Charlotte Raleigh Winston all where big cities. I'm form Hickory left when I was 18 to join the Navy Been in San Diego for 25 years. LA and SD make these places look small. Even though Winston is a city. It's still very old looking country. Out here construction always going on Buildings and houses being built But with that being said. I'm making the move back to NC this summer hopefully. Over the big city life, Cost of living crazy traffic and the people out here are different now, Looking at Hickory or Huntersville. Miss all seasons and rain. Never rains out here in San Diego.

I love your tour of Winston-Salem. I've been there recently and love the city too! However, I wish you would stop with the black-and-white stuff. I don't know if you are trying to talk like hood people or what you think black people sound like, but it is offensive and I am not easily offended. You were probably joking, but please keep it in mind. In poor areas, there are all races as well as in well-to-do neighborhoods. Come back to Atlanta and visit some all-black upper-class neighborhoods because they do exist.

I live in a very small town but less than a half a mile from Winston Salem. There are good places and bad places in every town or City. Please don't comment on places you know nothing about, makes our city sound terrible. Give the city a chance

I was okay with the video until you started saying certain stuff.. the only thing i can agree with is the segregated situation. It's not a bad place to live,lot of history here and nice people. A little bit too much religion for my taste and way too many magas but at least they left you know where they are. The trash here is a huge problem. The garbage is out in front because people who are not supposed to be eating sweet or snacks or drinking alcohol in the middle of the day toss out the evidence of their problems before they get back to their house so they won't get a bunch of shiat from their spouse or significant other or their parents about how they are supposed to be on a diet but just went to the Dairy 0 and polished off a banana split or finished off a 40 oz beer and your supposed to be working or looking for a job. I pick up the trash in my Davidson county North Carolina neighborhood 100 feet from the Forsyth county line. We were a dry no alcohol county up until 2016 and it just barely passed. All I do is pick up alcohol containers because people like to drink but have to hide the evidence by tossing out the empty containers as they drive in our neighborhood. I also pick up Starbucks cups and half eaten ice creams and hamburgers tossed out of cars by people who are overweight who go through McDonald's or stop at Sheetz on their way home from work so they eat as much as they can in the mile it is from Sheetz or McDonald's then toss it out of their window as they drive into our subdivision. It sucks in the summer because aunts and bugs get on the food and ice cream right away and get out in my car before I get home and toss it into our trashcan. My wife and I take the golf cart up there daily and pick up a floor board full of trash every single day I get a lot of cigarettes and vape cartridges too It's a huge problem here with trash and illegal dumping. The dump is 18 miles from me and the trash people are picky as hell. It's very hard to get rid of tires and batteries and construction debris here and old bulky things so people just dump it wherever they have an area out of sight from people.

The East Side is mostly black but the rest of the city is blended with everyone. Democrats run the city and theres no shortage of black representatives. Also, Winston Salem isn't layed out weird, you have I40 and Salem Parkway, those 2 will get you anywhere. I lived here 30 years and race isnt an issue just because it's the south.
