I love training sidepressure like this and sometimes I'll even use an additional band over my hand to the table that trys to toproll me the whole time. However as much as I love it I think it's definately the most painful workout for the elbow.

@thanatos57653 жыл бұрын
@NAGATO UZUMAKI you should train everything to be well rounded, but if you are hooker with main focus to cup with pressure to pinky finger, biceps hook inside movements and ulnar flection. To be honest training risor takes only a few minutes so you should do it anyways.

Been trying to build my Sidepressure power for a week now, trying to turn from traditional hook to sidepress/sidepress hook, thanks for the informative video, I will be changing a bit in my training style. Thanks to VoA and 201 ARMWRESTLING recent uploads, the stars are aligning and something signs that I should fully commit on this style xD

when training sidepressure like this, are you concerned about commiting/not commiting a shoulder (using sidepressure with tricep or sidpressure with bicep)? do you find one to be more beneficial than the other, or are you trying to keep this as level as possible - internal roation, elbow ligamnets only, minimal bicep/tricep? Edit: kinda answered the question at the 8:30 mark "working angle", gotta watch the whole thing first huh ;)

Static side pressure is stressful for joints. But is static training in general really stressful for tendons and joints?
@RDS_Armwrestling4 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the weight, if you go too heavy for a static it is possible that it will strain the joints/tendons, but if you build up the weight gradually over time in both your dynamic and static movements, it will build up the strength of your tendons, ligaments, muscles. These guys have been training for a long long time, they're used to this kind of strain. Also, they mention that a muscle is strongest in an isometric/static movement, which is true, so this kind of exercise is good for building muscle strength also, which should also help stabilise the joints
@YanziBarile4 жыл бұрын
The dude above knows what he's talking about. In calisthenics there is a lot of static movements and all of them are stressful for the tendons and joints. I would say them are, in general, stressful for ligaments and tendons but you gain a lot from them if you train them properly.

Hey Coach Ray, I got a little question. Can I do barbell wrist curls behind the back with both hands instead of doing wrist curls on the bench? I tried your tips to avoid wrist pain and it works to a degree but it still feels a little bit uncomfortable (even with light weights) and I still can't go as heavy as I want to so I can build max strength. Do you think that behind the back barbell wrist curls are worthless or not as good for arm wrestling because of the angle...or they are good? Of course I can switch to one-arm barbell wrist curls while standing as shown in your video about "5 arm-wrestling exercises that you can do at any gym", but I wanna work both hands at the same time so I can save a bit more time and wanted to know your opinion about it.
