Very cool old Crib James! Thanks for sharing all the details with us about this place. I can picture it going up in smoke soon before it gets replaced with new housing. Due to the power being left on unattended. Keep up the great work my friend!👍

I'm so sad this one was taken off the historic list. We have to do better with that (and realistically we can't expect homes this old to not have updates, considering the building techniques used when the original home was made and when the last additions were put on the house which looked to be maybe 80s/90s that are still characteristically similar to the original home). Lots of cool items inside here too, like the beautiful stained glass windows, fireplaces, wood floors, wallpaper... i could go on forever. Really liked the house and lots of the stuff left behind. Thanks for slowing down and taking the time to show so much! Take care and stay safe until the next explore, James!

The problem is: if someone gave you this house...to clean it out and repair it THEN be able to maintain it....a pure fortune. Back in the 90s I almost bought a huge house for dirt cheap....25,000....quickly learned that after I made the repairs and the City re-assessed the value, I would NOT have been able to afford the exorbitant taxes and insurance . So...there's a lot more to it all than just...I could fix that up. When a property is in this disrepair and the City of county makes nothing from it....they will absolutely make up for it when you bring it back to standards
@StaticSpaces
@StaticSpaces Ай бұрын
Oh definitely, property taxes, insurance and maintenance in general costs a lot of money. This was a $3 million dollar property 9 years ago, so it's worth at least double that now and 4 acres....the property taxes would be expensive! Thanks very much for your comment!!

For what good would it be if we went to work and someone else has access to our landand property For what good would that be? That's what we fought two wW War s for 1&11 not for some to come along and make their own decisionstfor them selves and NOT hte good of the people.?!!

@StaticSpaces I don't recall mentioning that but perhaps I should add that the average person or can't afford the cost of high rises. blue collar laye worker unless long tideous hours in order to pay the mortgage or make ennds meet. So when they say afford able "housing" it seemly not possible and is missleadle middle class in or der to*fill their own needs.

abandonment option is a clause in an investment contract granting parties the right to withdraw from the contract before maturity. It adds value by giving the parties the ability to end the obligation if conditions change that would make the investment unprofitable.

@@deborahpisano59 Not sure which country you're from, but many of the abandoned homes @StaticSpaces shows (at least in Ontario) are usually owned by wealthy development companies who bought the properties from the previous owner. They're usually just 'abandoned' in the sense that nobody lives there until the development company obtains the necessary permit to tear the home down and (depending on the size of the property) build one or many homes.
