The Vaulted Side Split
I think you will like this large abandoned house, it was quite large and had a lot of personal items left behind, including some furniture. When I first walked into the home I saw many items having been strewn about and I got the feeling that squatters may have been living here at one time. Either way, I always find it surprising when so much stuff is left behind. The nice thing is that some of the house's original features were left intact such as the staircase, some of the windows and the basement.
The last time this house sold was in 2004 and it was for $740,000, this property would likely have a value much higher than that in today's booming market, probably more than $3 million. It sold many years later to a developer and has recently been torn down to be replaced with a smaller townhouse subdivision.
This abandoned house was a side split built in 1966, there was also an addition built in the 80s which became the new kitchen. It had an in ground pool as well as a tennis court which gives you an idea of the size of the property.
After the home was bought the developers who own the property were actively salvaging any and all materials worth, those materials were donated to needy organisations before the remains of this abandoned home were demolished.
